IBEENHAD is not a thing. Smart TVs do not have DVRs. If someone is the PERP[etrator] in a TV show, they're probably not an extra, they'd be a main character. Overall, an unenjoyable puzzle, even after figuring out the gimmick. Just a real slog to complete, even with cheating.
This has got to be one of the most clever puzzles EYE have ever seen here.
Not a fan. The revealer was very unclear, I was mentally trying to get ENDS to work with the clues, rather than BOOK. I did better then my Tuesday average, but as others suggested, this seemed more complicated than a typical Tuesday. Maybe the clueing just wasn't clear enough today.
This puzzle wasn't too diphphicult phor a Thursday, once I phigured out the rebus.
@pmom Are you suggesting today's answer waSBARROwed from yesterday's puzzle?
Extremely frustrating that actually putting LINE in the answers, to complete the words, was incorrect. If it hadn't been for those, I'd have finished the puzzle without cheating. Thanks for ruining my golden streak on a gimmick.
SPOONERISM is the religious belief in using a LADLE to eat ice cream or soup.
ixnaY on this uzzlepaY Painful and slow.
I give this puzzle a THUMBSUP! Get it? THELIKESOFYOU? I'll see myself out.
What kind of wood did they use in 17th century Europe for making tabletops in drinking establishments? Bar oak.
Disagree with TEENTSY spelling. Raiders org slowed me down a lot, I was sure it was NFL.
I bet my DOGWOOD enjoy this puzzle. I did.
When you don't have a runny nose, it's NOTSNOT.
Heavy science theme today. Physics, astronomy, chemistry. ASTEROID MARIE (Curie) OTTOHAHN MAJORTOM FUSION FISSION ISOMER PORTALS (if we're including sci-fi)
A feeling of PANIC AROSE when a certain couple was caught on the KISSCAM doing something SEEDY last year.
Wow, did that NW corner kill me. Besides ATT, I got exactly zero other words either across or down my first pass through, and then I stared at it forever to start filling it in.
I'm with Sam on not knowing "rowdy" could be a noun, but M-W says it is true (second definition). This was my 1800th completed puzzle.
I am ETERNALLY grateful that I did not have to DWELL on this puzzle for too long, nor look EXTERNALLY for answers, allowing me to DO WELL and keep my gold star streak going. XOXO
I felt that this dinkum was very fair. Probably the fairest dinkum I've ever encountered.
@Amy Yes, it definitely is. That incorrect answer slowed me down.
I bet Eddie would say he D/Un did this P/Uzz.
This puzzle was relatively easy, it did not FLUMMOX me. I did not have to FLEX my brain muscles much to complete it. However, it did let me get my NYT crossword puzzle FIX in.
@Steven M. This did seem more difficult than a typical Monday. My time was slower than usual, as well. This felt more like a Tuesday at least.
Several years ago, I bumped into Aly Raisman in Boston, where she lived (lives?). I just happened to randomly be in Boston again today as I'm sitting here solving this puzzle. Coincidence?
[107D]y cat, [107D]y cat They should've figured a way to work that in as a bonus.
Good golly, Miss Molly! That was an easy one.
What do you call a party animal? A FUNGI.
I was DETER[1]D to beat my average, and I did. BOOM! Not the hardest Thursday puzzle, but clever and fun.
Recoil suddenly - SHIES? [22A] To shy away from something means to avoid it, but there's nothing *sudden* about the action, per se. I think this clue was a stretch.
I'm guessing Eddie dun did this puzz. So dun I.
@Mike You have a Daffy sense of humor.
Was it intentional that we have a clue about a two-cent piece, with a picture of a ROLL of pennies in the column, on the day after the US Mint produced its final batch of pennies? https://www.nytimes.com/2025/11/12/business/penny-coin-legacy.html
Here's my SEASHANTY: Yo Ho, as Friday's go, The answers came like a Wednesday flow.
Now 5 out of the last 6 days this week I've been faster than average. Either I suddenly got smarter, or the puzzles this week have been a bit on the easy side.
I *ted to figure it out as soon as QBERT didn't fit properly. Relatively easy once you figure out the rebus.
@Steven M. TEC is one of those answers they use a lot in these puzzles. Not as common as IRK or ADO, but still somewhat frequent.
@Dan ALRIGHT is entirely American, odd that you think otherwise. Especially with a phrase like "alright already", I don't think I've ever seen it as "all right already".
'Two up': ELAINEBENES 'Two up': THEFONZ
This puzzle was FAST N EASY.
"Flag nickname" = OLD GLORY "Score on yourself" = OWN GOAL
WITHOUTADOUBT, an easy puzzle.
Coincidence that Mr. SPOONer had eggandSPOONrace down the middle?
Even having figured out the trick, some of the * words were still very difficult.
I'm OVERTHEMOON for today's puzzle. Today is the Harvest Moon, and the first supermoon of the year.
This wasn't too hard of a puzzle. It didn't incur my WRATH. (See what I did there? I'll see myself out.)
FIRSTOFALL, I was caught FLATFOOTED by NAPTRAPPED and PTOWN, but eventually I OBVI earned my PRIZEMONEY (grand total: 0 RIYALS) by finishing faster than usual.
Those "wee winter workers" (32A) must be extremely busy the day before Santa makes his rounds.
