The Alley
Held up by an imaginary rapper named PostmanOne. 😁
The many commenters decrying the blatant and weirdly outdated sexism of feminine side cheers me. Thank you all. In an age where one of the major political parties is trying to drag us all back to the Bronze Age, this is no small lapse. The editors owe us an explanation and apology.
Lab report may be my favorite clue ever!
Tough but fair, really well done, no dud clues and some excellent ones.
Recently listened to Aqualung for the first time in decades, and it was so good.
Nice Monday! Accessible but spicier than average.
Took me two days to complete Saturday's puzzle so can I just say I loved it!
Fantastic puzzle. Lots of wit and aha moments, starting with the very first clue.
Nice puzzle but ugh Democrats are not the left.
Fresh and fun, Tarun! Good luck in college.
The all-time best New Yorker cartoon that never actually made it into the New Yorker: https://images.app.goo.gl/ngokt4HeQUDMTtDz6
I'm sure some techbros wear vests, but it's way more associated with hipsters. Jobs wore turtlenecks. Zuck wears tees and swears. Epstein fan Gates favors avuncular cardigans. And they should all be taxed at 99%.
I would like to thank the universe for the combined talents of everyone who brought the picture of a pack of goth weiner dogs into being.
Minesweeper: a blast from the past.
Easy and fun! Adorable picture! I spent a couple of days up in Salem, MA, last week. One of my best excursions ever. Thousands of people, many in spectacular costumes, and all good vibes. I recommend it to any Halloween / goth / pagan fans out there.
Full of fun moments, not the least of which was changing King Kong to Hong Kong.
@Henry Su yes, we don't want to demonize orcas the way Benchley demonized sharks in Jaws (which he later said he regretted)
Really fun puzzle, loved the classical theme.
Great puzzle with lots of really clever clues. 👏
Super fun puzzle! That Cossman quote is brutal.
Really delightful, with some great clueing.
@Marshall Walthew eyes for peer group was great!
Really fun! Henry you nailed 44D.
@Dave it's an absolutely wonderful show and may still be on Netflix.
Haven't even finished the puzzle yet, but 86 across, omg and lol!
@Woody i once almost didn't get the name of the town I was living in at the time!
First puzzle where I was able to figure out the trick from the get-go! Chuffed. Thanks Hoang-Kim!
It took me forever to get 4D. 😩
One of my favorite puzzles ever. Some outstanding twisty clues (pride party), no unfair ones, although some came right up to the edge. Bravo!
What did I just solve?! LOL
Great, fun puzzle! Some of the clues (like big feller) were diabolical but not unfair--must be hard to pull off.
Just finished Saturday's! A slow solve but satisfying.
@The X-Phile thank you, but I really don't have a choice. It took me 55 minutes total to finish, but I needed the breaks. It is truly amazing how an answer can totally elude you, only to immediately pop into view after a break. The subconscious is an amazing thing!
Fun puzzle! 1 down - oof!
Hard but fair. Great debut, Jackson.
Really interesting Monday. I breezed through it, but then it turned out that several of my "obvious" answers were wrong and I had to pay closer attention.
@Puzzlemucker no one is expecting instant proficiency. If you actually read the comments they're asking for fairness and decent editing.
"Like Santa after Christmas" might be my favorite clue of the year. Was convinced it was "tired," and when I finally gave up on that' and went searching for the right answer, it did not disappoint. Also love the pic of the piratical Bernard Miles.
What a fun puzzle!
Really fun and clever! Loved the revealer.
Several really delightful clues in this one!
@AT same here! I dithered on that same Seth clue bf googling to confirm it. Only after doing so did I "go out on a limb" and try the rebus and get my star. This puzzle taught me to be a bit braver and more flexible in following my hunches, which is a nice gift from the constructor.
Really thought 17a would be alte kockes.
Fun puzzle except for 65A.
@Eddie i scrolled down to ensure you did!
