Strong candidate for worst puzzle of the year. Poetries? NEVER. Potato shape? Come on.
Enough obscure clues and answers for a week packed into one day. On to Saturday.
Excellent timing to coincide with pol campaign season - lie, lie, lie. Give the editors a spike for this one.
I been to 4 county fairs, 3 pie socials, 2 country hoedowns, and 1 monkey gas-passing contest, but I ain't never seed nothing like this. Wow
Newbie to ribald puzzling? There should be a warning before there is a word rube malfunction. Call it a pre-nip.
Plosives? Nah. Classical crossing with class room? Never. Derats? No such word. Bad stuff
A first-timer acknowledging puzzle shortcomings? What a refreshing take. Thank you. You've a wonderful future.
Another time waster. How these overly clever puzzles get in is above my pay grade. Just gotta do 'em to keep the streak intact.
easy puzzle but shaky theme. we won't see its like again soon (thankfully)
Good Friday and a better than good puzzle. Thank you
This puzzle certainly brought many Horatios to the comments sections - Hornblowers, that is.
one of the best puzzles of the year. KUDOS
The A-Team hitting on all cylinders
Pointless puzzle. A rebus just for it's own sake is a re-bust.
What a refreshing puzzle - no silly or arcane entries. Thank you.
moe? reaction gif? horchata? come on. obscurity prevailed.
Was there a movie named Blah Blah Blah?
Finished in a thrall- no, actually on a thrall. Great place to puzzle
Clever and fair. Who could ask for more? Brava.
There's an Arts section in the NYT. Perhaps picture puzzles should go there.
samesies? come on - doesn't belong in a Saturday puzzle
registers quite high on the "yuck" meter but gotta keep the streak intact
Puzzle is a put on - just don knot(t)s.
clunky at best. odd clues and odd answers. On to Friday
No muss, no fuss, very few throwaways. Thanks.
NENE or NENES? The answer to the question, "goosed or geesed?"
House wins on obscurity, esoterica, and bad cluing. Get the idea?
Congrats to Chan and Carry - oops, not quite right (similar to this puzzle.)
Bah. Too many dull and pointless 3- and 4- letter words, I swear.
A very G - no I mean an F. For those of us who could care less about Pixar, this puzzle was another time waster.
3 straight days without a bunch of trivia and wasteful 3-letter answers. What is the world coming to? Thanks, anyway.
Thank you, Peter. This puzzle went down well with a couple of Toms. (Collins, that is.) A votre sante.
Took a month to have a really bad puzzle in 2024, but this one fills the bill from foreign words requiring nothing but guess work to a simpleton theme. February flop, in short.
A puzzle like eggs flipped gently - over easy.
How much is 2 Q's and 2 Q's?
He went and saved the worst for last - not much to praise about this Sunday puzzle, the last one of the year. Just as Biden saved Obama form being the worst president oof this century, likewise this puzzle saved 51 others from last place.
After yesterday's dud, we went from Skunk Hollow to the Grand Canyon. Bravo
@john ezra And why was Clinton's dog named Buddy? Because Bill and Hill couldn't bear to say ...... , well, you know what.
