After this absolutely awful week, I was looking forward to the Sunday crossword, and then to my horror saw the by-line. NOOOO -- more misery!!! To my surprise, although it took a bit longer than a typical Sunday, I cracked it, and it did bring me some respite from our sad world.
I'm glad that you used today's column to share thoughts of your wonderful dad! So sorry for your loss.
Deb - I really look forward to your end of week columns, and I'm savoring the last few. I'll miss your humor, and lively descriptions of clue meanings. Happy Retirement!
Deb -- I started crosswords during the pandemic, and your witty column helped me through some of the tough clues, but made me laugh during a trying time. Thanks for the joy that you have brought! Hopefully I'll "see' you on Social Media, or meet you for a Pastel de Nata at Portuga (my treat!).
Loved the theme, but just never got on the same wavelength with the constructor for the solve.
CMON - You should APPROVE the word "LINE" and not only dashes!!!
Delightful Friday puzzle, with such clever, fresh clues! Butt-dials made me LOL!!
Brilliant! The theme was clever, and the clues fresh and sufficiently challenging!
How delightful! A Robyn puzzle for a Friday morning! My favorite!
Such a fun puzzle! I can't wait for Alex's next one!
This was so much fun! I didn't read the instructions at the top, was confused by the errant letters, and decided they must spell out something. I actually laughed out loud when I pieced them together! Solving the print edition made this easier, after I wrote notes to put clue pairs together. Well done!
@Nancy J. 56 across made me very sad :(
Oh Wordle -- did you really havr to do that today of all days? Was just hanging onto my Times Subscription for the puzzles -- I'm rethinking this decision now.
@Rachel Same! I was totally on the same wavelength on the bottom half, and perplexed by the top half. After filling in what turned out to be Christina's clue in the top half, the rest came together.
I did the same as the constructor with Kate Middleton!!! Had to go back and correct my solving mistake as well! Nicely constructed, including the placements!!
Deb -- I enjoy reading all of your columns, and will certainly miss you! Hopefully, I see you around town! Congratulations, and enjoy your travels!
This one was so much fun, and such clever construction and cluing!
@Norman While easy, the payoff of seeing the genius of the construction was well worth it!!!!
Mr. Softee trucks have their own theme song: https://youtu.be/JUJwNifnizM?si=EcnbhPM-L-pVymFK I've seen Italian Ice Trucks play The Entertainer.
SUNDAY WEEKEND EDITION SOLVERS -- DO NOT SOLVE THE 4/19/26 Crossword in the Magazine today! I wracked my brain for 15 minutes, and ran to reddit to confirm THERE IS AN ERROR WITH THE GRID!!!! Correct one will be in the news section tomorrow. GRRRRR!
Jeff Chen? On a Monday???????
@Jane Wheelaghan Thanks -- flashed by, and I could not get it back again!
My new challenge every morning is finding the MIDI. I'm solving using Chrome on a MAC. Sometimes it's on the menu, sometimes it's not. Then, it's there, but alas, "Page no longer exists". I thought it was discontinued, but it's hiding somewhere.
@Jeff Z Where do you find the midi -- it is adventure every morning finding it in chrome on a mac. It is not on all menus, and if you are lucky enough to find an option for it, you get a "this page no longer exists"
@B I just wasn't on the same wavelength with this author!
Did I just see a message that the MINI will no longer be available on the computer, but rather only on the app?
