@Wr Eli, referring to a Yale student, has probably been in the puzzle 100 times. Besides, don’t you like to learn something?
@Grumpy If Brie isn’t common in your life, it should be.
Am I the only one who was stuck in the NE with income instead of ASSETS?
Am I the only one who is tired of using bread as a stand in for money?
I confidently put in Scrub instead of ABORT. They are similar, but abort is usually used after the flight has started, scrub is more common for cancelling before it has started.
Loved this puzzle. I wish there were even more multiplications. The answers for the theme clues were so easy, I don’t see how this could be a problem. As for you number-phobic people complaining that ‘this is why you don’t do Sudoku’, do any of you realize that those numbers could just as easily be letters or animals or any other symbol. Sudoku has zero math. None. Nil. Zip. Nada. End of rant.
Am I the only one who had BETATESTS before FLUSEASON?
Loved it. A tad easy for a Thursday, but good theme and good fill. Come back again, please….
Has it been mentioned that OLDE and SHOPPE appeared on consecutive days, both times at 1D?
I had point guards instead of TEAMPLAYERS. Funny considering the puzzle creators last name is Iverson!
Good puzzle. Lots of answers that could have been something else…hunts instead of HASAT. Suede instead of SERGE. I had Angel as in angel food cake instead of OPERA. Can you tell I struggled with the NW corner?
@Grant But there is an Autopilot
Am I the only one who thought yogisms?
@Elle That’s actually a common expression from poker, when you can make a straight with either of two cards…say 8765, you have an open ended straight draw, or more simply an ‘open ender’
I really wanted 37D to be Sherpas, all though most Nepalis who climb are Sherpas…
@JayTee Eno…I’ve had Eno(ugh)
@JJ Came here to say just that.
Loved the Bad Drawing clue. I finally put SHORTSTRAW. In, then realized why it was a bad DRAWing….
I didn’t realize the missing letters were part of brunch items til I got here. Now it makes sense…
Berra and DiMaggio (Mickey Mantle too)were both THREE TIME MVPS, though that doesn’t quite fit.
Didn’t even notice the Pro/Con until I read it here. Just assumed it was about the rhyme. Slaps forehead.
@Anthony. Same here. Had unruly not UNTIDY as well.
I didn’t not love this puzzle. Fu. Thursday!
@john ezra I had ISHMAEL too. Is there a more famous opening line in a book?
Came to say I really liked this one, even though I didn’t get the whole name of each finger thing until I solved it.
