I might be one of the only ones, but I really dislike when puzzles have a fair amount of clues that are just hyphens or dashes. I'm not the best solver, but those clues don't help with providing crosses to the solve. I was stuck on the longest time trying to figure out the directions. Like the column used as an example, 8D was no help, because the answer to 8D ends up being Drinorth.

@Byron I understood that the Follow Directions was the Revealer. You don't need to re-explain it to me. But it was unclear which directions exactly the puzzle was referring to. After the fact, the four cardinal directions make sense, but in the moment, it's unclear that the rebus answers are rebuses. I read "what one must do using the circled letters" meaning all the letters in the puzzle - meaning each box had one letter. But still, trying to figure out the crosses for those clues, that only read "-," meant that figuring out it was a rebus was that much more difficult. If the answer for 8D, for example was "Due North" instead of "Drinorth," it would have made more sense.

Going to have to go with the naysayers on this puzzle. But really it's the answers that sound unnatural or ungrammatical that are in the puzzle that get on my nerves. "I been Had" "Say Over" I've never heard anyone ask to "Say something Over" "It's love!" Doesn't also seem to come naturally.
