A quick Saturday for me done in 16 mins. But GLOP? I just don’t hear that used at all although Google suggests it is. I had SLOP for a long time which stymied me in the northeast corner.
Ugh. US school rivalries. Tax PREPARER? SELF COMMAND? UNREP? Not my favourite puzzle and not just because of EPILOG.
Yes, and CAMPOREE is a rather unknown term in the UK, so I was really quite stuck in the NE corner for some time.
Outstanding construction. And a pleasurable solve.
SKEDS? Had me very stuck in the bottom right for a long time. Questioning if KNICKS and ICEES really were correct. Got half done very quickly but took a while to get through the long entries. Enjoyable.
NW impenetrable for me. Managed BARE ESSENTIALS but couldn’t get enough downs to help on the others. Well done anyone who got STEF Dawson. I had to scroll rather far on the Wiki entry to find her name.
Agree. LOUSE UP completely unfamiliar to me. ERG again. ARIANNA again. Rest of the fill uninspiring - BOS, HET, STP. Didn’t help myself by going for IN SITU in the SE corner as opposed to ONSITE and that led me to be stuck for some time.
Thanks to SHAKSHUKA and FACTORIAL this was a quick Saturday for me. Very funny to see the clue “Bass output” having grown up not too far from Burton-on-Trent.
Impenetrable. Good start in the middle but answers were not giving me anything. ETONIC, ABCISLANDS, KIVA and several of the proper names completely unknown to me. Not helped by the fact that the timer didn’t stop when I closed the app so my solving times on Saturday are now wildly out of sorts. 😠
@Don If you are using the NYT Games app, there is a “More” button in the keyboard which when pressed will show a Rebus button allowing you to enter multiple letters.
ATOB took me far too long. 🤦🏼♂️ Enjoyable.
Having ALI and ALY I felt was a bit weak. Slow solve today for me. Didn’t get much on my first pass until I hit the theme and the song titles came quickly. Also hit RUMBA/RIPBY instead of ZUMBA.
@Wade REELED? Definitely a word
Got the theme quickly - ! and BANG is familiar to me from coding. Have to say though that SASE was unknown to me and EPSOM is perhaps more famous for its horse racing than its mineral springs.
Ugh. Top half impenetrable. SLYBOOTS and DOPESLAP in particular I have never heard of. Must try harder (me, I mean).
ANEMIA for Weakness. I’m afraid I just don’t get that. Certainly weakness is a symptom of anemia but I don’t think the clue works at all.
