First of all this said "paintings" rather than painters, so at first I was looking for titles of famous paintings. Finally solved it but overall a big mess and not fun at all.

Adding to the chorus ... gratuitously difficult, not even in a challenging way. Sam should be put in a time out for this one.

Can you please present Sunday puzzles that aren't so gimmicky, please?

Did the puzzle with just the fill; even at the end barely understood the theme, which makes it less fun.

The most fun Sunday puzzle for a long while! Very clever.

Finished it with teamwork but found it very confusing and not fun. Sorry ...
