Trivia laden. Doable but not enjoyable.
@Francis it was a tedious solve. Most tough puzzles dazzle. This one doesn't. And the trivia...ugh
I felt set up. But it was a set I enjoyed terribly.
As usual, very happy to see Zhouqin's work. Much clever and enjoyable. No gimmicks!
I chose the path to not carry on solving. Clever.
Works on a crew indeed. This was fun !
Stumped by ZEE because here, we go by ZED. Otherwise, good one - always happy to see Jeff Chen in the list.
An excellent job. Kudos to the constructor! This was one of those you had to chew on for a bit. No tricks no fancy stuff just clever half truths and misdirections. Very fun!
Anna Sui makes a comeback. Field with a pool was genius. Very good Sunday solve
I suppose it's faithful to the TYLENOL ban, given then DEMEROL substitute being fielded.
@Chris primarily a military alliance, established in 1949, committed to mutual defence (ostensibly) vide article V.
I loved it, even though southwest was brutal for me. It was utterly enjoyable.
And I thought yesterday was awful...
So clever! Tres bien!
Not so sure if it's a trivia quiz? I am happy to give up my admittedly short streak and start on my household chores.
Congratulations to my fellow countryman. May you/this be the first of many. :)
Leading nowhere indeed.
Very fun run. I loved it. And yes, just sharing my two cents.
You'll be missed for sure. Here's to your new ventures :)
@Martin S I went HEX FIE POX
I'm so tickled. Thanks for the action-packed Monday. I'm floored.
Now I really want a good jam doughnut. And hot black coffee. In a paper cup. D'oh!
Thank you so much for the tidbits of Greek culture. I enjoyed them immensely. They were neither tragic nor epic.
@Andrzej TEFAL didn't stick for me either. Right that was an awful pun.
3/4 of the way through, I felt a terminal stutter coming on
It should be the Malay Peninsula. The Federation of Malaya (1957 - 1963) became the Federation of Malaysia (1963 to date) when Malaya, together with Singapore, Sabah and Sarawak amalgamated into one political unit.
Trivia central today.
@sotto voce hear hear!
Loved this. Welcome back!
@Rebecca I gave up my streak because it was too much pain doing this
Very very very nice!
Chewy like a good sourdough. I enjoyed this one - especially the red sauce and bargain hunters. Good job, Mr Williams.
Last I checked, Android phone cameras snap with a tap as well. Device agnostic but still...
@Andrzej well put
@The X-Phile totally absolutely fully agree with your observations
@Anna Mario is indeed a global phenomenon and hardly niche. I had an easier time with the Mario clues than like.... Huffington?
Trivia is on another level of trivial today. Pah.
@Veronika the puzzle was great DALLIANCE for a relatively free day
Very intelligent and almost playful clueing. Thanks for the non-gimmicky construct!
This was a real delight after yesterday's gimmicky mess. I'll be sure to get some shell fish and ink some service agreements sometime. Good job mr constructor.
It was awful at first pass BUT when it came to the moonshine, it was smooth. Great job Mr Cohn.
So many long spans that I felt like a bridging engineer. Good workout for a Saturday. Nice one.
Must have had a breakfast craving. Sat on my FRENCH TOAST for too long. Breezy Sunday solve.
Lovely grab bag of trivia
I finished it but I don't get it.
3/4 in and I'm beginning to wonder if it's actually worth the squeeze.
I'm not so sure I know what constitutes an enjoyable puzzle anymore. The thrill is gone. I'll turn to spelling bee for now!
