That was fun and I guess that I won't be the only one who filled the rebus last. It didn't make sense till it did.
I came here specifically to see how many other people had trouble with ABYSM. It was an interesting ending trying to figure out my error. Oh well!
This was my fastest Thursday ever and I didnt get it till I was done. Interestingly, I first had Joan and changed it to John Cusack. Pretty ingenious. Thanks!
This was an easy Saturday ansd I am not complaining.
Sometimes I get tripped up on what to enter in the rebus but this one was clear once I got DOUBLE NEGATIVES. My favorite clue was for IMPALA.
@Anna I was also stuck on BEAST. @Dave K : Stops digging meant stops liking, I enjoyed the puzzle though.
I absolutely loved this!
Glad to welcome back Will. Fun game but finished without happy music. Went thru entire grid to find that the last word across should be SNOT not SNOB.
When I started this puzzle last night, I wasn't getting anywhere. Today, after a cup of coffee, I started again and it all fell into place. I loved ARM IN ARM, PINKY SWEARS and SEW.
This was fun. Congrats Rena!
Sorry for your loss, Deb and happy for your memories! This was a great Thursday puzzle. At first, it seemed easy but there were some difficulties. Last to fall was SKIP AD which I was thinking was going to be one word.
This was a fun puzzle. Figuring it out during the across clues helped with the rest of the fill. ššš¹
That was so much fun and totally unexpected. I loved the reveals. Made my day!
That was a fun solve. Nice and light for a Tuesday! ššššš
This was a fun theme but took me a while to catch. The first complete one that I had was 61A BEEFEATER but I had no idea why it was the answer. DUTCHOVEN in 50A finally made sense. Then, I was able to go back and fill in the rest. JAKE? Never heard of it. Definitely a new one for me. Loved the clueing for REDHEADS and LAVA.
Sorry to see you go, Deb. Thanks for giving us ample notice. Welcome Kyle. Enjoy the kids; they really do grow up fast. I enjoyed the puzzle.
This turned out not to be as difficlt as I first thought, once I got TILTED AT WINDMILLS. However, ZEDONK was news to me. Besides that, it was fun.
This was nice and breezy. And last week was the week for Ayo Edebiri!
I loved the Qs and got done in a reasonable time However, I got no happy music. Finally had to look it up and found that I had WATERMOLE instead of WATERVOLE. Which is why MIBEY seemed so odd.
Nice quick Friday! Loved ATE ONES WORDS and TATTED UP. š©šŖš°
@Heidi Seems like a conspiracy, doesn't it?
Thank you Kevin Curry as you celebrate in your birthday week. Today is my birthday and I had the fastest Thursday ever. How nice!
@Marshall Walthew I liked all of these too as well as HECK YEAH!
Loved the animation at the end and all those Os to make it happen. Happy Monday! š ššš
@Marshall Walthew I, too, wondered what an ACUNIT was and when I started typing it to look up when I was done, I realized that it was AC UNIT. Ah!
@Andrzej I loved the puzzle but must confess that I thought of people like you when I saw solves like PEE WEE FOOTBALL and OLAJUWON.
@Francis I never played Minesweeper but this took me down memory lane - directly back to the 90s. I used to teach Technical English to students training to be computer technicians and would bring in articles for class discussions. Due to the various lawsuits, there was much to review including the Apple vs Microsoft GUI case, the Netcape/Microsoft browser wars and then the US vs. Microsoft anti trust case. Those were wild days!
Quite smooth puzzle except for my stops: COMPOST PIT for BIN, ATTABOY for ATTAWAY, and sweeet TEA instead of PEA. Those took some cleaning up.
@Lewis I liked GNU and AISLE. Smiled when I solved them. šššš
Actually, I did not find this difficult. I had to doublecheck because I had HALF TUNE for HALF TONE and TOTODO for TOTORO but I liked the puzzle itself.
Yes, Deb. It was satsfying. I enjoyed the TO LET clue.
My initial thought for the 2.3 million in NYC was RATS!
OUT OF JOINT was my favorite clue.
This was so much fun. And like others, I didn't know about the Pi connection with these two. ššš
This was a fun puzzle. Got PRIME REAL ESTATE first because I had thought SECRET PASSAGES initially. šš
This was lovely except that I got stuck in the southeast corner and had to rework it several times. It did not help that I could not figure out the spelling of the between yoga poses and finally had FINISH THE JOT instead of JOB. Had to read through the entire puzzle to catch that. Loved DRIVING CRAZY!
@Deb Amlen Am booked ard ready. Yeah! My first ACPT! Looking forward to it.
An easy Thursday and as one who lives and drives in NYC, I can appreciate that all types of our roadways have potholes. It's surprising at times to see how bad they are.
@Chris It's Look, I made a hat.
@Chris Well, I use a browser, the clues were highlighted, and I still didn't make the connection. I solved the puzzle but came here to understand the theme. Now I get it!
@Steven M. I did all Fs too and it was nice and quick. I hate when the rebus has different across and down letters, as I always have to check that I am using the right order. So now I just stick to one set.
@Steve L I only know her name from the crossword puzzle; the many vowels make it really useful.
Interesting puzzle. TIL about Double Stuf Oreos. Had no clue what they were so I initially thought I was missing something in the answer.
@Laura I was trying to shoehorn in SARDINBERRY and wondered who would want to eat that.
@Joe I'm also a fan of the Oxford comma (from APA) although there seems to be more relaxed rules now. I think that it helps with clarity.
@sotto voce It definitely was a nice construction and yes, I got the theme really quickly. Not alwasy the case. LOL.
Congrats, Jackson! I had the most trouble in the west. It didn't help that I thought that it was WHOOPIE CUSHION and I wanted CARE TO ELABORATE to be CARE TO ___ DETAILS. Of course, things did not fit for a while. Anyway, the rest was okay, except that TROLL was new to me.
@Sarah Horn This is one of those times that I did not understand the theme. I got all the answers but could not figure what was behind them,
