Whoa, as a newbie to this forum and a middling solver I am so embarrassed by the personal attacks on the constructor. Unless you are a multi-published constructor maybe take a step back and a deep breath, then hit delete. To rant about what is supposed to be entertainment is more about what is lacking in your own life than what is lacking in the puzzle. Maybe X is a more appropriate forum for you. My “nice” Canadian persona is being stressed out.

Shout out to Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, Fort MacLeod Alberta Alberta has 6 UNESCO sites more than any other province in Canada. I live an hour away from 3 of them - Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, Writing-on-stone, and the above. Also visit Wood Buffalo National Park, Dinosaur Provincial Park and the Rocky Mountain Parks (Banff, Jasper). And no we have no interest in becoming a state!

Amazing how all it takes is one or two breakthroughs for the pieces to fall in place after getting nothing on the first pass! I thought I’d be OFFTHEGRID on this one.

I’m from Alberta and NEVER has it been abbreviated to ALB (neighbour of Montana). It is AB or obsolete Alta. Must visit Estonia as it seems a popular place.

So very sorry for your loss Deb. A fitting reminder to let go of the things that divide us and embrace that which binds us together, especially in this polarizing environment we find ourselves in. And a good reminder that we never know how much time we have with our loved ones. I lost both my parents young so envy those special years you had with your dad. Thoughts and prayers with you, your mom, and all who loved your dad.

@Dana oh wow! I really was not expecting to hear back from the constructor AND Sam Corbin! Maybe I’ll hang around the forum for awhile longer. Looking forward to a 3 week stay in Carlsbad CA in February, us Canadians really envy your warmer weather.

Ooh the grumps are out in force today. Must be the taste of Canadian like weather you’ve been experiencing. While here in Alberta we were 20 degrees (Celsius) above normal for January. Stay warm and maybe enjoy a BOTTOMLESSBRUNCH with some Canadian bacon.

@Maggieim fairly new as well and there’s nothing wrong with using auto check for the end of week puzzles. Also great practice going to the archives where you can pick which day of the week you want to do. I did today’s with auto check about half way through and no lookups.

It must be the weekend because the usual “I hate this puzzle I didn’t know the answers” people seem to be away. Or everyone took 21A to heart and changed their perspective. Sorry to see Dallas and Atlanta getting some Canadian style weather. Stay warm!

Got all the long entries on my own but got hung up on the short fillers. Especially SE corner. Crosses didn’t help today. Oh well in the end completed a Saturday with help.

@Bill Nene are actually Canadian geese that came to the Islands and forgot their ability to fly so they would never have to leave. A common wish of many present day Canadians!

Just drove 6000km from Alberta through Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Nevada to spend 3 weeks in sunny SoCal then back north through the beautiful Napa Valley, Avenue of the Giants, Oregon coast, Washington, British Columbia and back to Alberta. It was a CIRCUIT and a (weather) CIRCUS. We found everyone very gracious to their northern neighbours but saw only a rare Canadian license plate. I fear this will be the case for the next number of years.
