Extremely satisfying Sunday puzzle. Feel like I could run through a brick wall right now. Not to be overly dramatic.
The rare “this was a little tough for a Monday, no?” Mostly enjoyable, but definitely a lot of proper nouns.
Ehhhhhhh. Cute, I guess. More tedious than clever.
Maybe I’m just in a good mood, but I loved “To pieces?”
Mostly fun Thursday. I didn’t love “OWEITTO” and I especially didn’t love “SAMLET.” That entire top right corner was a real hassle.
I didn’t see the title and had LINE entered instead of dashes. Slightly frustrating. Fun puzzle altogether.
With the notable caveat that difficulty is tough to pin down and varies from person to person, this felt oddly easy for a Friday. Solid puzzle, though.
Solid puzzle. If I had to pick some nits, I didn’t love “NEWAT” — just feels awkward to me, like I need it to be NEWTO for some reason. And the clue for STARSTRUCK feels a bit goofy? Like I feel as though most people might be starstruck meeting tswift, you know?
Enjoyable Sunday puzzle. If I had to pick a nit, it’d be that I entered in all of the line colors as rebuses (rebii?), mostly for my own sake, and I had to go back and remove the rebuses for it to give me credit. Not the end of the world, certainly, but definitely slightly annoying.
I adore “America” by Simon and Garfunkel, so I loved seeing that clue and instantly and excitedly sang the lyric out to my wife who was less enthused lol. This was clued a bit simply for a Thursday imo. I didn’t really get the theme clues until after I’d completed it. I don’t necessarily hold that against the puzzle/creator — it happen — but it does make me enjoy the puzzle a bit less.
@AT came to the comments to see if anyone had pointed this out. I think “one of 31 in the NFL” is a better, more “trivia”-esque clue anyway.
This was for my 365 day streak. I had to run to the write-up to figure out what was going on in the middle. After reading the explanation… sure. You got me, Zhou and Kevin. I would not have figured that out (from the clues, at least — I might have eventually landed on it blindly guessing) in a million years. Hope your anniversary was fun!
Didn’t get the theme until coming to the article (I had a vague idea of what a SPOONERISM is but couldn’t put 2 and 2 together apparently). The cluing was easy enough that it was a pretty quick solve even though the theme answers were fairly nonsensical without getting the theme.
Ended up having to guess letters for the cross between NOOR and NACRE but such is life. Otherwise fairly straightforward. I did like OSTENTATION, though. New one for me.
Sheesh. 20 minutes faster than my average. At first blush it looked like it was going to be a bit of a slog with the series of long across clues in the top right and bottom left, but it flowed well and ended up being a relatively easy solve (personally).
Fun Thursday. I was not familiar with the cozy mystery genre. That combined with me being pretty sure that I knew Zayn Malik’s last name (suggesting that he is not a “one-named singer”) threw me off. But we got there eventually.
Gimmick was neat enough. The clueing seemed a bit easy, maybe a bit over reliant on the theme. Fun (if a bit quick) Thursday.
I struggled a lot with this one initially. Took several wild guesses and things weren’t clicking. But then I hit the TEXASTEA/AXE cross and the clues started to fall like dominos. Enjoyable Friday!
Fun, breezy (perhaps a smidge too breezy for a Sunday?) puzzle!
Swing and a miss for me, personally. Though I did learn that JODHPURS are a thing. I stared at that for several minutes wondering what I’d messed up, lol.
Completed fairly quickly without really getting the theme. Read the article afterwards and feel like the theme is a bit weak, but what do I know?
Ehhh. Didn’t love the theme. I was aaved by (what I found to be) easy crossers.
A lot faster than my average. I didn’t get any of the theme clues before having them filled in 2/3rds of the way. Fine enough Sunday.
