First rebus completion ever and a very rare - for me - Thursday solve. Tweaked to it with ATLANTA and SANTA then got TENANTS and was on my way. And even rarer still - no frustrated Thursday rANT from me! ;>)
I feel like I've been here before
No angry eyes needed today. Now where did I put my extra pair of shoes!? Delightful.
Totally ignored theme and just went about my business fueled by the effects of a long lunch extending into happy hour both with dear friends to celebrate my birthday and finishing with a Mojito and a slightly slower solve for a Wednesday. Happy to see OREO's reappearance which segues into cookies and somehow s'mores the Italian equivalent of which I discovered at aforementioned lunch where I chose the Pizza Pillows covered with cinnamon and Nutella. Bliss. Nice niggle-free puzzle - thanks.
Had SLIP but it's a SHAM! Never use it in everyday life. Same for GUNLAP. 🤔 Loved the theme though!
Arranging my DOULA led to a faster delivery today. ID say I really enjoyed that one but how could I not sitting by a pool in Bali where the puzzles arrive 3 hours earlier!
Solved 3/4 rebuses without any help so taking it as a win today!
OUTONALIMB for awhile but didn't PANIC, ending up FLYINGHIGH (surely one of the grest comedies). Now IRULE which is most likely MOOT. Fun wow! Thanks.
Finally solved it without a clue about the trick as all the downs made sense. A few checks and running through vowels for INIGO played the music for me. Not sure about word play that has no bearing on solving a puzzle but maybe by TOMOR it will GGGGGGGGGGGGGGG on me.
Unlike most Sundays I didn't roasted. I'll take the solve thank you very much! 🤓
I totally missed some easy clues i.e. I'm a Lasso fan and Excel user but totally scored own goals and divide by zero errors with those ones. Managed to get peerreview with crosses after flirting with Erie but trying to solve those cluescluesclues with just my brain and a thumb proved too much without either pen and paper or a whiteboard at hand too.
They have apps not DVRS and most likely an app that might work like a DVR! But with streaming who needs them anyway.
Took a five hour break before finishing and ended up about a minute slower. Enjoyed the theme which I feel was smokin' hot. I feel like these last few days have been a training run for what might be a challenging Thursday. Maybe a stonking Big Air Winter Olympics theme perhaps! 🏂🏅
Delightful! And faster than usual. Loved the inclusion of some of Sunday's part answers too. Thanks!
After tripping up on Wednesday I'll take a faster than average Thursday solve. So yes even I found easier today but no complaints about the gimmes. I think it's more a progression leading up to Fri, Sat and Sun zingers. SINgling out as a conspiracy theory to sell more subscriptions? At a buck 39/month the numbers don't add up. SIN is also the three letter airport for Singapore which I'm looking forward to visiting next week.
Fun but didn't finish. Got the theme but went another way first with WaltDisney and SteamboatWillie as they fit but righted the boat soon enough. Teapitcher?! Makes one's pinky twitch it does!!
@Andrzej hey Zeus - ye flippin' gods! Wasn't that bad was it? Maybe setting up a false sense of security before a heinous Thurday, perhaps?
As I get older "My gut says..." a lot of things but never "I'd bet." Should have listened to it when skewing towards asymmetry though. And parsing didn't help. A rare Tuesday fail for me. And can I add my voice to placing a freeze on the use of Oreo, eel, keg, Tati et al including et al as they are in danger of becoming a bit too meh...
@Barry Ancona I went with ORDER due to overexposure to Exel spreadsheets.
@Dom D struth!
@Grumpy I had MOTHRA for bit but that's just me.
@Matthew I know the term from some sit-com - Seinfeld maybe - but not the spelling so had the same issue as u.
@abelsey I only know of it from endless transits through LAX on the way to YYZ from down under. And helpfully it appeared yesterday.
