Man I am not on the same wavelength as the creator. I give up this isn’t a fun one for me. Glad I’m in the minority because it’s a cute theme. I really thought the periwinkle clue was COLORBLIND. I thought that was a cool solve even if it turned out to be wrong, ha!

LOVED this one. Especially fun to feel like an answer clicks. It was hard but not vague. Loved it.
It’s nice to see that so many liked this. It wasn’t for me at all. The theme felt pointless. (Read the clue backward? Why?) And I kept wanting to spell the answers backward like the clues because I have a hard time switching gears like that. Didn’t like it, but they don’t have to be for everyone.
As someone obsessed with tall ships this was a really fun puzzle. Love me some ships terminology. Thanks!
Etsys slogan being “keep commerce human” is laughable. Not a slight toward the puzzle just an irony.
I didn’t even realize puzzles could be submitted until I saw the comments here. And I only came to the comments to say that any puzzle with ALSLOP as an answer is ok with me! Really enjoyed the puzzle. Congrats Mason, and thank you for sharing it!
@SP Referencing a harmful persons work in the NYT crossword feels like an endorsement. Referencing a historical figure is a reference to history. You being ok with what you’ve come to terms with is not the same as someone dealing with the mention of an active public figure’s work because it made a cute answer to fit a theme. Especially someone who is currently doing their best to continue to cause harm. Your experience doesn’t negate theirs.
@Yankee in Virginia Truthfully because it cost a fortune and came out the same year as the Lord of the Rings I believe and didn’t do as well as was expected or hoped. It made a profit but nothing like what they wanted to green light the rest of the plan, and there was intent to make more. You can see the Surprise in San Diego. She lives at their Maritime Museum. I agree, it’s a terribly underrated film. Worth learning about.
