Absolutely loved this puzzle. Like many others, I was seconds away from a personal best on a Sunday. I'm shocked by the number of complaints regarding the puzzle not accepting LINE as an alternative to the theme. UHLUH, NOINO, TONDO, and OPEED for the 1D through 4D are clearly not acceptable words. I completely agree with the constructor's and editors' decision not to accept LINE and was amused when I had to erase my own entries of LINE to replace for hyphens regardless of the seconds it cost me on my time. Thank you for the fun Sunday morning, Harry!
Delighted to see Amelia Mignonette Thermopolis Renaldi's kingdom debuted!
I'm impressed with the stacked THEs! Loved the theme. Got the Brontës right away, but I did try to fit MARYKATE in 45A (hoping for a later ASHLEY and ELIZABETH). Not a fan of the Kardashians, but I truly do not understand the ire with their inclusion in a puzzle. Their names, and their (in)famous spellings, are a part of mainstream pop culture knowledge that serves any solver well. Appreciate the juxtaposition from Jill!
Thrilled to get a Saturday PR just 24 hours after receiving my first NYT crossword rejection (for my first submission)! Thanks to Luke and the editors for a reason to be undeterred.
@Elyse My fastest Friday, too! But took me 12 minutes.
