I very much disliked this one. I think the flaw was that LONG FACE fits in the same gap and is a very correct answer, which left me very confused and frustrated. Some kind of hint to the theme was very much required. It also felt quite US-trivia heavy, and the use of "crawler" instead of "crawly" threw me too. The perils of living across the pond!
I almost turned on auto check for this but glad I didn't. Managed to puzzle through even if it took me a long time to get the theme.
I was surprised at ROOFS thinking it must be some Americanisation. I've since been down the rabbit hole and apparently rooves is considered archaic!
A tricky one for a Brit, some brands I hadn't heard of, and it turns out that homely means the opposite over here. I also wouldn't make pavement from cement, but rather from concrete or tarmac. I like the theme but sadly couldn't crack it without some help. P.S is anyone else unable to open the comments section from the Android app? The button doesn't have any effect.
I wonder how many people knew of PAULINE. As an avid gamer I was embarrassed to have to look it up. I always hope clues in my specialist area will be gimmes! Also I assumed Kamehameha was a Dragon Ball reference 🤣
@NQL indeed, "valuable rocks" would be a better clue.
Why would a SHOP have sawdust? I guess if it's a pet shop, but the answer doesn't seem specific enough.
After finishing today's puzzle I had the success screen, but the puzzle wasn't showing as finished on the main screen on either Android nor iPad. I had to open the website in order to get it to trigger properly. Had a similar issue last week that ended a (short) Wednesday streak
Why is it spaced as CU STOME R S?
