Blustery
Very Cold!
"Jouissance" just made my day! Great word.
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood," always makes me remember long walks with the dog. Nice crossword.
So glad people include answers in their comments! This puzzle was hard (I thought) but I was able to finish it with a little bit of help. Thank you.
@Jeremy Is it too late to annex us, by any chance?
I don't think I have ever teared up after finishing a crossword, but I was deeply touched by what both Deb Amlen and Mr. Chalfin wrote on this wintry morning. Thank you both. I hope you stay well and safe.
Kudos to Benjamin Panico for creating a crossword of Toni Morrison books! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
Love a nice cup of tea in the afternoon. Brings back good memories of my lovely mother and the comfort of a small pot of tea with pretty porcelain cups or mugs (with milk and a little sugar), her delightfully silly sense of humor and a little bit time we spent together sharing a "cuppa". Nice crossword. Thank you.
Made me smile, that. Fun puzzle.
Kind of wish Alan Turing's brilliance wasn't associated with anything the techbros ever touch. Just a snarky observation on a grayish Saturday in May. Good crossword, though.
Wow... the things I learn from doing crossword puzzles! Who knew :~}!
Evidently I've been "Adulting" for quite some time and hadn't ever referred to my child (ren) as behaving like a "Threeager". "Rentroll" sounds like something a Scooby-doo character might have mumbled? Might enjoy some Aloo Gobi for dinner tonight, though. Great idea!
What an thoroughly enjoyable and much needed diversion from the decidedly nasty beginnings from the slough of despond. Nice crossword.
Couldn't figure out why 37d wasn't 'eve' except the answer to 42a would've been incorrect. Laughed when I started to wondered about NYE... as in, Bill...? Oh, my.
Difficult and clever. Glad for the pointers! My thoughts and prayers to Will Shortz.
Would love to visit the Alhambra! Lovely allusion in the description. Fun crossword.
Favorite clue, 49 across. Such an interesting crossword. Congratulations and condolences. Thank you.
Congratulations! Fun crossword.
Fun puzzle! Oh, the wonderful things I learn from crossword creators and solvers. Thank you!
"Bond, James Bond". Nice puzzle. I really liked EB White's 'elixir of quietude' clue. The martini in the middle was delightful! Thank you. :~}
I liked this enjoyable crossword. "I" thought it was clever. Love Polyphemus moths ~ they're so beautiful.
Well, holy moly! What a rather strange box of chocolates this morning. Interesting.
Thought 'tea supplier' was going to be samovar. But, it wasn't that at all. Clever puzzle.
Fun puzzle. Really liked the book The God of Small Things by Arundhathi Roy. Thank you for this crossword.
Haven't seen a reference to WASP(Y) in years and years. Made me laugh though. Thank you.
Way too fun. So clever. And I love Tortoro!! Thank you!
Your puzzle was fun and interesting. Thank you for a nice Sunday diversion. And kudos to your children, too.
Curiouser and curiouser! And fun :~)
Well, well! Still needed a little help, but this was a jackpot of a crossword! So much fun. Love film noir and black and white movies. Thank you!!
Wonderful, wonderful crossword! Thought 'fez' was the cap worn by dervishes but it was 'taj' which can be used to score lots of points in scrabble games. Delightful, Mr. Schreiber.
Lol! Eggcorns is too funny... I had no idea. And 'mondegreen' too, I had never heard of the word but instantly laughed with recognition! What a fun puzzle today. Thanks for the explanations.
Ragtime with Audra McDonald and a cast of wonderful singers is wonderful. Thank you.
Fun puzzle! Felt like a mouse in a clever maze... I wish that particular car being 'promoted boastfully' hadn't been a clue, but fun Sunday puzzle on a gray day.
Thank goodness for so many helpful hints from so many puzzlers. Very grateful!
This was an interesting puzzle! Thank you.
Delightful crossword! A lot of fun.
@Francis Too err is human. To be scandalous, divine!
Fun crossword! I think the Cong you bing pancake would be delicious right about now. With a hot cup of tea or coffee.
@Andrzej hahahaha! It's a gleeful word.
Wow! Kudos, Jackson Matz. Well done!
Quirky and fun and so glad for hints from everybody who enjoy words. Great day to find books by Penelope Fitzgerald at the local library. Thank you.
Even though I've never had any of those delightful libations clued in this puzzle it was fun and clever. Thank you.
@Dave K. Pair of red socks... and a new pink tee!! Works like a charm.
Kudos to Enrique Henestroza Anguiano for his 30 Across clue!
Fun crossword and entertaining. Just a small comment about "race" vs. "species" as part of the general lexicon. Humans are a species, like dinosaurs, whales, cats and dogs. But "race" is, and was, a divisive and damaging social construct with no biological basis and no purpose other than harm.
Fun crossword! I read an article about Octavia Butler in the NYT recently that made me want to read some of her stories. Good Saturday puzzle. Thank you.
@RozzieGrandma What a really, really nice story about your grandmother... and I am so glad for her and her children. I also thought 2/4 time was rap! :~)
I love the photograph of the snowy mountains in Alaska and hope those don't change anytime soon. Fun and clever puzzle! Thank you :~}
For some reason the information about the 46th American Crossword Puzzle Tournament in the opening paragraph reminded me of Bob (and Sharon) Klahn. (Just thinking out loud.) Nice puzzle on a wintry Friday in Spring! :~}
Thoroughly enjoyable crossword Bill Thompson! To this day the delightful memories of a new pencil box for school makes me smile.
Really thoughtful crossword and thought-provoking explanation. I am very grateful to you.
