Enjoyed this... Seemed easy for a Thursday (but no complaints!). Got the gimmick very easily, and clues were all reasonable, no super-cryptic words or phrases; crosses got me the stuff I didn't know. Nice job.

The obvious answer to 24 across is "trumpism", but it doesn't fit.

Loved it :) I thought the title was a give-away for the hyphens (I only realized the "line" quite late on), and don't really understand all the grumbling here about the construction.

The nested clues seemed very easy (even easier with the Russian dolls clue...). And no super obscure words or overly convoluted clues. Got it in record time (for me; for a Thursday), with no need to come here or to Google, and no groaning or swearing. But , it was enjoyable - nice to have an approachable Thursday puzzle :).

The clue for 21 across is genius. I couldn't get it, but got all the down crossings that revealed it... I laughed out loud when I saw the answer.

Managed to complete it in 38 mins., using the crosses for the weird answers, but even when finished I could not figure the trick or the weird answers until I came here. (e.g., I thought "BAR HOP" referred to hops used to make beer, linking to 51A; and some other odd ideas...). Clever puzzle.

80, 86, and, especially, 113 across had me laughing out loud when I figured them. Great fun. Brava!
