Wow. Took my wife, SIL, and I 2 hours to solve with no lookups today. Really tough! Not a bad experience when you’re drinking Campari Spritzes on vacation in Milan, though :)
A surprisingly tough Monday. normally I finish in about 5 minutes, this one took me 13. Feels more like a Tuesday.
Took me 25 mins (way over average!!)….I am also under 30 years old. No complaints! My issue was with GILD/DATA….I mistakenly had OTToWA for far too long and that threw me off! Spent 10 minutes trying to figure out my mistake.
Everyone here complaining about the proper nouns when I can't get over what the heck a SUPER-UBER is supposed to be. Feels like that could have been clued a little better. SUPER-USER is a computer science term and what I had there.
LIPO / EPA was unduly annoying. sat there for 10 minutes trying to figure it out. I wasn’t sure about what DDT is, so I guessed related to dentistry and had BLAH and ADA. Books of Tang I’ve never heard of. Finished 9 mins slower than average. Rough Tuesday, but on a 5-day streak. I have yet to get to a 7-day no lookup streak, maybe I can do it this time!
Had it filled out in 90 minutes. Spent another 30 trying to find my single mistake: bAA instead of MAA.
@Domino Yeah, maybe in 1995. Get over yourself.
Unfortunately, my 18 day no lookup solving streak came to an end. Too many gaps in knowledge for me today. Tomorrow is a new day
After a tough Monday...a tough Tuesday. Finished in 13 minutes again, like yesterday. Hoping for an easy Wednesday!
@The X-Phile I too also made that mistake on Friday. Also took me about the same time to figure it out!! Don’t think I’ll make it again…
took me an hour but so glad i stuck it out with no hints!
@M what is interesting is that I managed to solve all the tricky clues on my own. They weren’t what I found hard!
@jennie Thank you! That was my confusion, didn't realize "contents" can be plural/singular interchangeably since I never speak that way. @Grant I get your point, but frankly, knowing there is coffee inside your cup I wouldn't think to say "the contents of your cup," I'd just say "the content of your cup is coffee." Now I know that either works. @Everyone else The snooty comments are not necessary, it was a simple, innocent question asked in order to learn for next time. Sorry that my ignorance is too much for all of you.
Curiously, shouldn't the answer for the clue "Contents of a sleeve" be ARMS instead of ARM since the clue is plural?
