I gotta ask since I've been behind on the puzzle, what's up with the extra thick black outline around the square I'm typing in? It's blocking the other letters around it which is frustrating. Can I remove it?

The article I received in my email about the crosswords getting easier confirmed my suspicions. I was rather bummed to read that because of software use the puzzles are not as challenging. Is there a way to bring back the challenge using software? Many Fridays and Saturday puzzles go awfully quick. Granted there are a few that are a challenge but I wish there were more.
