Anyone else try CAT as "battery for a mouse?"
My first six-letter beer guess was TECATE, but then I thought "no, CORONA fits better with the theme."
@Francis Yeah, I didn't feel great about running the alphabet on a Tuesday. Nice puzzle, though!
It's a Strip-Dees. I'll show myself out.
Was disappointed that "beer" was not the official fuel of the NHL in Canada.
"Vikings' offense" did not pull me towards the NFL team, as neither DUBIOUS nor NONEXISTENT worked.
Mildly aggravated that WORLDOFAPU has the same letter count as APUTRILOGY. Must read more carefully.
@Andrew Cats are always looking for one
@Eleanor B. Agreed. I worked in data storage development for 20 years, and while bytes would be more common, megabit is perfectly fine in this context.
@Rahul Same here, and I convinced myself that a PRIZEBOT must be something in the world of online betting, about which I clearly know nothing.
Well, that was a thing. The first theme entry I got was BASSISTS, before the revealer, which I parsed as BASS ASSISTS, i.e. things to assist you in catching bass. I already had LOOPER, which reinforced this notion of looping around the answer to form something that fit the clue. It looked like fun! But that was not it.
@Darren I had such hopes for the intersection of DARKMATTER and CONGEAL.
@DF I should have gone with INEPT
