@Andrzej I think there’s one in the original movie version of Oklahoma, if you can somehow stream that in Portugal. Women made box lunches or dinners, men bid on the meals and the right to share them with the woman who made them, and the town raised a little money from the sales.
Really funny. Please construct another for us soon, fellas!
Delightful puzzle. And Deb, thanks so much for being a voice of gentleness, encouragement, clarity, positivity, and humor for all these years. May you love your next act!
I’m old, so I remember when "he" was the “correct” default for any unknown person, e.g. “If a professor is ill, he should find a substitute lecturer." Most of us wouldn’t write this today, but rework the sentence to be plural or even use the "singular they." We would not default to the male term. So why on earth would we think it’s ok to use some sort of "inclusive male term" for two women grads of SNL? I found it very sexist.
You live and learn! All my life, having grown up in Westchester near the Hudson River and driven on the Palisades Parkway, I thought “Palisades” were some kind of cliff or escarpment. Loved the puzzle, too…
Duh. I did this whole puzzle before I realized that each clue contained the missing letters. I guess I was lucky the cluing was easy.
@Siamese My son lives on the Eastern Seaboard (Jersey Shore).
A fun puzzle. And the animation after I solved it made me smile!
@Irina T, hey, file it away! It’s in puzzles all the time. I guess it is a useful combination of letters…
