Thanks, Mr. Grinberg, for writing out the answers that you mentioned, rather than just giving their A/D address. That courtesy always makes for a more pleasant read, compared to bouncing back and forth between tabs. Your puzzle was informative as well.

Tried 3 different platforms to make dials turn. Never could MAKE any of them work. Finally noticed that it had done itself. Constructive suggestion: I agree with one commenter that gimmicks belong on Thursday only. Even there, I'd like to be able to enter recognized REBUS answers that have locked out because of single correct letters. No big deal, but it would be nice. Oh, how about a "REVEAL GIMMICK" option.

British comedian Glenn Moore says that his name is a tautology if you consider the geographical meanings of them, something like valley valley.

Thanks, Mr. Ezersky, for spelling out the answers you referred to in your comments. Please encourage others to do the same in their comments. It makes for a much more pleasant read. BTW, your link to the article about Will Shortz comes with an advert for full subscription with no way to clear this out of the way to read the article. Ugh!

Once again, editors, please quit poking Classics (Latin and Greek) majors in the eye with the capital ETA. Yes, it looks like a Roman H, but why not call it E to Homer (or whomever). I've had modern Greek speakers tell me that both epsilon and eta are sounded like the "ee" in "week." It is high time to change this frequent fill from appearance to sound, as in this puzzle did with the I / eye. Thank you.

Why a spoiler in the opening write-up with no SPOILER ALERT? It wasn't a big deal. I think I would have made that my first try, but now I'll never know. I always read the opening comments first, but I stop at spoiler alerts and before Tricky Clues. Thanks you kindly, and have a good week.

Please use SPOILER ALERT before giving away answers in the intro. Thanks. Not much harm this time for experienced solvers, but perhaps they took away a learning experience for new solvers.

24D, Japanese beer. I'm always at sea with all of the clues from the Rap world, and I wish there were a list (like the bird list) of allowed rap songs and artists. I have, though, lived in Japan and been to Tokyo, where the Asahi Group HQ building has a golden piece of art representing beer foam visible from a great distance on top of it. This would have made a wonderful pic similarly atop the comments. Just search for an image of it on any browser. Maybe next time, hai? As they also have a major newspaper, the Asahi Shimbum, a great Thursday clue for this could have been _____ Shimbum. Variations abound. またね Mata ne (See you later!)
