LALA directly followed by NANANA was fun!
Very crunchy puzzle, great Thursday! (And no lookups either, woot!)
Really chewy with some nice little misdirects like MOoN/MORN and Port/PIER. For a little while I was sure that ROYALFLUSH was going to end with luncH. Looking forward to more puzzles from this constructor!
Lovely, snappy puzzle. Thanks guys!
@Xword Junkie A luchador is a male wrestler in the Mexican style, where they wear fantastic masks (from the Spanish "luchar"/"to fight"). Per Spanish grammar, a female wrestler gets an "a" at the end, hence LUCHADORA. For further reference, check out the Jack Black movie Nacho Libre (jk jk)
I love Stephen FRY and so knew for sure that was the correct answer for the V for Vendetta clue. That probably added a good couple minutes to my time.
@Bee Winberg I would imagine the Venn diagram intersection of people who do the NYT Sunday crossword and people who believe in demons is sufficiently small enough that the editors weren't too worried.
@Ebronx I filled the carrying capacity of this puzzle so fast I had to leave 200 lbs behind on the road
@Steve That Wordle answer is the only reason I got this clue right away haha
Great puzzle! I got stuck on crossing cOil/DIGin instead of FOAM/DIGAT. Nice misdirect (albeit annoying).
I had ZOOMIEOFFICE for a while and couldn't figure out how it fit with the theme lol
Fitting that this was published just a few days after the brilliant finale of The Rehearsal with its hero Captain ALLEARS
The best way to find out who's munching your plants are motion-activated trail cameras. It's fun to see all the nighttime garden visitors you get!
Relatively snappy, but still lots of fun misdirection. Great debut, congrats!
@Zack After seeing one of my fave childhood video games, I confidently plopped TLC (one of my favorite childhood music artists) into the crazy sexy cool space. Very tricky, these constructors!!
@Andrzej American here. Once I started measuring baking ingredients in grams (shout-out to GBBO) I never looked back. I have no clue why my culture insists on complicated nonsense like liquid vs dry cups etc etc
@redweather IMO, ADU is a better descriptor than "in-law apartment" which is the term it replaces
@Rolando HAR as in a sarcastic "Hardy har har" typically used in response to things like bad puns etc - maybe it's an Americanism? Do any other anglophone countries use this one?
@Grumpy Fellow Android user here, and I second this!!
