I thought this was a little tougher than the usual Tuesday, but all the more satisfying for it. Nice debut!
There has to be a less annoying way to enter the rebuses than how I am doing it. I go click on rebus, enter the two letters, then hit the “next” arrow and then the “last” arrow so I can fill in the rest of that clue. Help? I wouldn’t have minded this so much if filling it in wasn’t so tedious.

@Paul I found it neither big nor scary and completed the puzzle in slightly over my average time, 2200+ day streak intact. But I come for the words, wordplay, and trivia. If I feel like doing a math puzzle, I’ll do a math puzzle. Some people liked it; that's fine. I and many others did not; that’s also fine. It’s not a character defect to dislike a puzzle.
@Diane L And the 2018 World Cup was in Russia. One of ~12 venues may have been on the Asian side, but…
@Katie Ours does this, too! It’s so weird.
I also emailed the address and eventually am giving up after the third response, which said “however, this specific streak issue cannot currently be repaired or restored, and there is no further action support can take on it.” At first it tried to tell me the midi doesn’t have a streak feature. Very irritating.
