Hi all! Jess Rucks here. Thanks so much for solving. My goal with PADIDDLE was to have people from my neck of the woods feel seen in crosswords... IMO, the Midwest doesn't always get the love it deserves! Learning new things about different life experiences is one of my favorite things about crosswords (and counseling, ha!). Cheers and happy Saturday!
Hi all! Jess Rucks here. Adrian and want to let you know what the lie is. As some of you guessed, it's #2 -- the ice cream option. I'm the monster who doesn't love ice cream. I mean, ice cream is... fine? But I'd rather have pretty much any other type of dessert if given the option. So there you have it. Cheers and TGIF!
Love love this crossword. Congrats, Kenneth!
@Cat I have heard this phrase. I find it really disturbing. I also am a child therapist and have seen a lot of dehumanizing language used in order to justify abusive behavior towards kids. I had a really strong reaction to this puzzle because of that. So, I voiced my concern and opinion.
Children are humans, they deserve to be treated as such. I'm so offended by today's puzzle -- once I read the revealer, I couldn't even solve the rest of the puzzle. This is such a harmful way to portray the "ideal" child. Holy cow. This puzzle made me feel angry and sad.

@Barry Ancona Not every phrase needs to be turned into a crossword, imho :)
