@Eddie The NYT retired Ken Ken a while ago, alas. And Sudoku is a logic puzzle -- whether it is numbers, symbols, or letters, it doesn't matter for the form of the game. So, there are no number puzzles in the NYT, which is not enough!
@Dan Fendel Breanna Stewart is a two-time MVP of the WNBA (2018, 2023) and led UConn to four consecutive national championships. "Stewie" is what broadcasters refer to her on nearly every play. The clue is not obscure, especially given i) the huge uptick in interest in the WNBA this year and ii) that the NY Liberty (her current team) just won the 2024 WNBA championship.
@ad absurdum Logic isn't a branch of math -- it's an area of philosophy. It's the form or principles of rational thinking in general. Were you to take a logic course, it would almost always be taught by a philosopher.
@RonH Good point! Though then the chip isn't dipped into the word twice... hm... Perhaps, then, the snacker dipped all the corners of the triangle into the dip (word above), bit off each corner, and is now left with a (roughly) circular chip to dip back into the word above.
@Jeff I think because the revealer is butt *out*, the prohibition on accepting rebuses is necessary. Well, also because the rebused letters don't work both ways.
