There has recently been a change to the user interface and it has made it much harder. I use an iPad and I used to be able to open wordplay and toggle back-and-forth between the puzzle and wordplay. Now I have to back out of word play to get back to the puzzle. This is not an improvement and would like to know how I can get things back to the way they were.
More essays from Rian Johnson please! Great puzzle and fun to have his accompanying voice.
I love hearing about first solves. Hooray for LES Miserables. Mine was when my mom was doing a puzzle and asked the room a clue: what is "tug backwards." I was four years old and I said "GUT."
Personal NATICK eddy for me in the lower left. I didn’t know any of the answers to the clues at all! MAIN APPA DESI No complaints, just rooms me awhile to dog myself out.
Wow! Witty, challenging, fun. This is why I do crossword puzzles !
That was cute and elegant. Great puzzle!
I loved and laughed often with this theme. Thank you for a fun Sunday puzzle. I had a personal Natick where 77A has natural decoration for some bookshelves. Of course, I have one on my bookshelf but I didn't even think of it...
Oooooh, Will Shortz’ name is back as editor. Is he back to work?
I reacted verbally in awe when I got 5 down. Can’t wait to find the rest of the theme. Excellent!
Happy Tolkien fan here. Precioussssss. I saw that LESBIANBAR fit and was mad about the dress code hint. Lesbians don’t have to wear… oh … LEATHERBAR is the answer. And, THANK YOU FOR THE MIDI! I love having more crossword puzzles to do.
Great, clever puzzle! Fun solve and I loved catching on to the ring theme.
This was fun and satisfying. I do wish I had not entered rebuses (rebii?) for each color. Took me a longer time than it should to get the revealer.
Woohoo! That was a great puzzle! Very clever and fun. Yeah, not terribly hard for a Thursday, but the enjoyment factor made up,for that. Thanks!
I stood up and cheered when I finished this puzzle. And then I realized I was by myself, and Mr. Schlossberg could not see me. I knew every one of those headlines and enjoyed looking at the dates and trying to remember what was going on at that moment.
27D made me smile. When I was a small child and didn’t know all the rules, I liked going to the 0223 gas station.
Well done Harrison! Congratulations.
28D is the wrong answer in the wordplay column.
@Steve L I live in a different county with lots of wine and it's the Edna Valley. I hope that shows up some time.
Oh! I had the same Natick. Ossa and Vaio were not coming to mind for me. Thank you for the help.
@HB yes, me too. I finally did reveal puzzle and it wanted a symbol instead of a rebus on the bottom left. I had nothing wrong, but no happy music.
@Bella thank you for the link to the right answer. I did NOT get this theme!
Oh Mr. Grinberg! That's a fine puzzle!! Thank you and well done.
@Marshall Walthew my first thought was Samwise and yes, I smiled at the clue with precious.
The link to the finished puzzle goes to May 16th instead of May 17th. Thanks for a clever puzzle!
Fooled by the discuss of the clue at 27A. I could not figure out why it would end with D... Great puzzle and a lot of fun. Thank you and happy Sunday.
@HeathieJ I’m curious as to what book you didn’t like? I love her memoirs, especially on audiobooks.
CONGRATULATIONS Caitlin! May you and your betrothed have a long lifetime of happiness together and make the world a better place.
@Barry Ancona thanks you for letting me know about the clue being corrected.
Where can I find the monthly extra puzzles on the app? TIA
@Sophia Jones thanks for correcting it so fast!
