This was definitely a tough one for me with all of the trivia clues, but it gave me the solid shot of dopamine once the theme clicked. Special shout out to Caitlin for the "surround sound" in the Gameplay subtitle, got a chuckle out of me!
The simple joy of this puzzle was how neatly symmetric Toni Morrison's book titles are! As someone only starting on their journey of aspiring crossword constructor, it's always a "wow" moment to see how neatly other constructors are able to pack their themes. Well done, and a worthy shout-out to a fantastic author from someone who is actually reading 65A right now!
Maybe this is just me but today felt tough... And yet I solved it without having to go back and check for mistakes once the grid was filled. Challenging but enjoyable!
I enjoyed this puzzle a lot, for a Wednesday it was a great blend of familiar words, tricky clues, and new terms. I especially liked how the puzzle itself looks like a flower too! Excellent work.
An absolute delight of a theme, beautifully executed. One tiniest of gripes (I normally wouldn't take umbrage at this but this is after all the best place for minute word nitpicks), but the clue for 23A should be [Li'l], with the apostrophe after the 'i' rather than before. For a second I thought that was intentional with L'il being a reference to something like L'Hopital but it's just Li'l. Great puzzle though!
Enjoyed this puzzle! A lil challenging for me particularly but had some excellent clues and a tight theme set. Nicely done!
Great theme, well done for a Tuesday!
New crossword-word to learn today: GORP, which really doesn't sound like a word... Well, I guess it kind of does. Great grid today! :)
I enjoyed the parallels between the theme sets this puzzle and last week's Wednesday puzzle in how they play with words within words (or within phrases)! Nicely done.
@Sarang Also it's interesting, in 6D, I thought "long lines" to refer to queues of fans that would want to meet an ACTOR rather than the interpretation in the Worldplay column. A sign of a great clue!
Really really clean theme. An excellent Wednesday!
@b Agreed! I feel like there was also another clue with a similar lack of "to" before "no end" earlier this week...
