Never heard of a "HANK of hair" in my life, but oh well. I also got tricked briefly by FULLOFIT -- I had "_ULL___IT" and I was thinking "no way this is BULLS**T"... that would've fit the clue perfectly but maybe that would have been a step too far for the NYT crossword, lol.

@Atavistic Cringeworder This feels overly semantic. Many people would say "humans are descended from apes", even though technically humans ARE apes.

I didn't know the Frost poem at all but I don't think the poem was substantially harder than any other Thursday puzzle (I actually solved it faster than my average!) Other than the theme, "Prime Cuts brand", "...Dalai Lama", and "What a clutch lacks" were the only ones I got stuck on

@Nancy "All done?" is pretty common in question form, in my experience.

@Melvin Hoagland This was my fastest Sunday too, just over 20 mins. Figuring out the line thing early helped a lot.

@Colby Hawkins "This song is a bop" is a pretty common thing to say, especially in the past decade

@Brian Only thing that felt too esoteric here was PADIDDLE - never heard of that despite having 2 siblings... I grew up with LOLCATs though so that probably helped
