Where's the TBAR? How are we supposed to get up this hill? CLAMBER?
Brilliant! Took my a while to figure out the trick. Loved it before and after figuring it out. Very fun solve.
Google enjoyed solving this puzzle. I did not. Too many arcane names and trivia. But that's what Google specializes in.
Count me in for the alumnae grumblers. Shouldn't the editors have noticed this?
Loved this! Tough, chewy, fair, lots of groans, and kept me guessing until the end. Great puzzle.
@Chris When I was in high school, snarf meant to laugh so hard while drinking a beverage that liquid came out of your nose. Is there any other term for this? As teenage boys, we used to actively try to make each other snarf by saying something funny when someone took a drink. Ah, how we passed the time before smart phones.
Very difficult for a Sunday puzzle. This was more of a Friday or Saturday level. Satisfying, but took a lot to complete.
Wow! This was just great. Kept me guessing. Just when I thought I was stumped in one area, I'd see a wrong answer and get started again. Great construction and great clueing. Dollar offering had me until the very end.
Excellent theme execution. Really enjoyed this.
This was a big NO for me. I've never played any of the Mario games and don't ever intend to. Until today, I've never heard of Wario. I don't play video games because I have poor hand-eye coordination. I do puzzles instead, because they don't require hand-eye coordination. I'm imagine most solvers are in this same boat. A video game theme is not good for crossword fans.
Nope. The hints to the them answers were all backwards. We didn't change the RA to UT. We changed the UT to RA. What's a uttora?
That mascot would have been a yooper.
