Rebus on a Wednesday!! Super fun when I finally got it, should've known earlier (LUNCH TRAY was a dead giveaway). Also enjoyed the silliness of CRAY CRAY and the crayola. Thanks!
Loved HALO for ring light, and happy to see Chappell Roan make (her first?) appearance. As an Indian, taking as long as I did for SUTRAS was shameful!
Stopped doing my daily crossword for the past couple of months because life got in the way, but finished in 5 minutes today, about a minute over my PB...happy to be back!
Laughed out loud at the revealer!! Super fun
Got on first and good for nothing were great clues. Ski slope took embarrassingly long...Super fun overall, though, thanks!
Loved!!! Easy, witty, and satisfying. The theme was fun and some of my favourite entries were DRUNKDIAL and DUSK. Thanks :)
VIGODA crossing IMPEI??? Painnnnful to me personally. Way over my Monday average :(
Had the best time! YEA AYE and YUP threw me off tho
Lovely Thursday! Very light on the trivia, and the theme made solving considerably easier - it was straightforward, yet delightful. Thanks Sam! One of my quickest Thursdays, with no lookups :)
What is the overlap of people celebrating BRAT summer and doing the NYT crossword, I wonder?
New Tuesday PB! Thanks Tarun - I loved the clueing for URDU, MEALS, and of course, TEEN :)
Way over my Tuesday average! Enjoyed 'ASILIVEANDBREATHE,' though.
Everyone's saying it was too easy - I was stuck on the PHILLIES / ANKHS crossing for ages! Maybe I'm still half-asleep.
Lovely, quick, fun!! Rare elegant 'Harry Potter-themed' anything. WHAT A TREAT was my favourite :)
Some crunch, some fun. Loved the theme, although I kept trying to spell it ACCUPUNCTURE with 2 Cs (which obviously did not fit). Enjoyed NICE PUTT, ROSEBUDS and STAMEN (the last of which took embarrassingly long). Thanks!
Embarassingly slow, and I needed lookups! On a Monday! :(
Tough! Rewarding! Thought I'd never break into this one. Needed some help, but finished eventually. I liked BELLCURVE, SWINGSETS, and AUTODIDACT immensely.
Long time solver, first-time commenter. A lovely, quick fill, although I, too, tripped over the SERGEANT spelling. The 'revealer' so to speak was very intuitive. Great debut, Jack!
Tough!! Immensely rewarding!! Sure there was some weird stuff like ROENTGENS and PEE and TROI but I'll take it for such a fantastic theme. Thanks!
Some really nice fill, if a little tricker than usual for a Monday. Loved CONTACT TRACE and the DRAW CONCLUSIONS. Thanks!
Nice! Perfect monday. Took me back to my undergraduate lit degree in a wholly pleasurable way.
Some reaches there...did not enjoy the cotton/spanish crossing. But SEMESTER AT SEA was delightful, particularly as a went-on-study-abroad-and-made-it-my-whole-personality person.
The I HEART - TRANSLATE crossing was the last to fall for me, but so, so fun when it clicked! Thanks!
Got the theme very quickly, but NW took ages to finish. STETTED? PITSAWS? Tough, but overall I found it easier than the average Thursday!
Slower solve than usual!! The theme was easy enough, but ALY, YURI, and UCONN were all tentative fills - I didn't expect to hear music when I finally filled in the NAMIB/IN APP.
Delightful jovial lovely no notes
Under 10 minutes but felt trickier than a Monday during the acrosses. HALFSIES, CAROMS, and SECEDE were fun!
Way over my average and a couple of look-ups! Enjoyed the theme, though.
My fastest Thursday ever!! I got the theme immediately, and things flowed well from there. I also liked how many rebus entries there were. Super fun!!
Felt too quick initially and then too difficult at the end -- so just right for a Tuesday, IMO. Thanks!! The clueing felt very fresh.
Loved the theme! Suffered in TAIGA/TAJIK like many other solvers. I smiled at POPE for 'major in mass communication.' (PS - I refuse to learn what March Madness is, no matter how often they clue it.)
Almost beat my Wednesday best! I suppose there are some perks to being chronically online (the Kardashians otherwise offer us little as a society)
Straightforward enough puzzle, had some nice clueing ('SAFARI' and 'CENSORBAR' were fun). I've never heard the phrase used in the theme before - a sentiment reflected in many comments - but once I put it together with the crosses, I felt it all click.
PB! I, like others, had ASSAM instead of PEKOE, so NE tripped me up. Still - fun, easy, and rewarding.
I don't know if it was just me, but this was too literal (even for a Tuesday) and joyless. Thanks anyway
Great fun and very elegant. More themed grids earlier in the week, please!
incredibly on the same wave length as miss malaika because how did i finish a Friday with no look-ups in under 15 minutes...
Another reminder to read The Bluest Eye!! The to-read list is eternally growing...
WOOOOOOW enjoyed that. i think i was on the same wavelength as mr. asgard today - the solve was incredibly smooth for me (except i had HOOOW instead of WOOOW..). loved DOG-EARED and WHO DOES THAT? fun!
Lovely, breezy solve! Persephone was a dead giveaway for the theme, finished well under my Thursday average (thanks to a couple of hints from my partner). Thanks!
I think I must've been on the same wavelength as the creators - smooth, easy, and fun! Enjoyed PSY-OPs and AHI. Thanks :)
Fabulously fun and quick. Great debut!
SW quadrant messed me up right at the end, where I had DOESKEN and couldn't for the life of me figure out how I would be fitting SUEDE in there. Other than that, tore through this one - full of GIMMEs and good fun!
Had no idea where the 'TRAN' answer was going, until...Arctic Monkeys' Tranquillity Base Hotel and Casino came to mind. Thanks, Alex.
Yeesh. I liked the themed entries, and about 3/4th of the fill was done in 5 minutes, but the names were super tricky for me. I had to look up VIVACA and check Wordplay for IDAHO...on a Tuesday! Sad.
Hate when I'm having a bad day and then I take forever to solve a very solvable grid
Super fun! Very smooth downs. I, strangely, had RODEO instead of RANCH and BRATS instead of SNOTS, which was annoying. Thanks!
Lovely, lovely, lovely! Found this much easier than yesterday, and quite a delight when the theme clicked. Other highlights: DEBUT, IRONY, and MOTHERSMOTHER. Thanks!
Enjoyed! Fun! Easy! 'Flue' is crazy though. Tough crossing.
Maybe I was not awake enough, but this was quite difficult for a Tuesday to me. I started off tearing through it, and got the theme quickly, but some tricky clues took ages! MESA did not come intuitively, and like others, TUCKETS was new (but fun). And what is an MCGRIDDLE, anyway?
