@Rick I got the theme easily. but jake/jape annoyed for way too long. i got so irritated.
I don’t know MATRYOSHKA so that annoyed me. Otherwise I would have been done in half the time. RACINOS is something I might have known but forgot. So it gave me trouble too. This is my birthday puzzle. I’m turning 50. The last few hours of my 40s. Honestly, I’ve been dreading it.
@Cody I hated it too. Viand irritated tf out of me crossing Grand. And everything else you mentioned.

Besides the lock animation issues, I just didn’t think this puzzle was very fun. Sometimes when I get frustrated I’ll stomp around the house muttering “give me a break!” This happened in the NE. I’ve never heard of El fowls. Oh ELF OWLS. smh. Jam vs Dam took a while to figure out too. Thankfully I live alone.
@Andrzej i can see how all of those would be difficult if not american imo. thanks for calling them out. i wouldn’t expect anyone internationally to know “jonesing”
@Mike R lol i had slop. that was the last thing i did to solve. replace s with g. bc sROUNDS didn’t make any sense
30D/34A and 60D/66A are a giant groan from me. Then there’s the theme. No thanks
@Andrzej SILAS ATCO SSR SMITH killed me. i got annoyed. these didn’t help: buss, peale, silage, basal, one a, doc cut up. one day i’ll remember lahr.

@qzac ugh i was zipping through until the end and became so irritated. i didn’t know ANAPEST. i know i don’t know everything but that annoyed me. AS SAD too. i had am sad. smh
Didn’t know: OLIO SHOAL RINSO SECO ERHU GESTE but at least i figured out the 8 clues. still, i hated it overall

@Striker sadly my issue was tio instead of tia. careless. i spent so much time looking elsewhere

@Marshall Walthew same. i did notice middle, pinky, and index but then at the end i just needed to find my error and didn’t think about what the theme meant anymore. my error was tio instead of tia. doh!
@JoeS echidna and tab took me forever. i’ve never heard of either. then i had a mistake with tio instead of tia which took me a LONG time to figure out.

@Heidi i got all the corners but the entire center section left me stumped. ugh
@Marshall Walthew I liked it too. Everything was filled in but it didn’t solve so I had to sleep on it. Turns out I had sings instead of songs. Thankfully I found it quickly this morning.
