Not really that hard - only a few minutes slower than my normal Monday time - but it's highly unpleasant to do that many proper nouns in a Monday.
Just have to say that I loved the 24A "Person in hot pants"
11:30, and to everyone here who has not had Mapo Tofu: you are absolutely missing out. Truly one of the best dishes in the entire world.
Difficult but fair! Especially fun reveal once I finally got it
The most fun I've had on a Thursday in a while!
Fun puzzle! I "solved" it in 4:37, but I misspelled Yousafzai as Yousefzai... which crossed over with Anne/Anna Karenina so I didn't catch it for ages as I tried for seven minutes to figure out what I screwed up. Final score: 11:31
Like many others, my solve time was on par with my normal Thursday but I did not understand the theme at all while solving. Had to come here to get what it.
New personal Friday best of 10:30, even with getting stuck for a solid 2 minutes while I figured out that 34A was UPLIT and not UNLIT - I'm a little too young to know Barry Manilow lyrics so I didn't know the cross. Fun puzzle even with the ease though!
I audibly groaned when I got the pun, like a true dad joke should. Fun puzzle!
A little on the easy side for a Friday but still required some effort. That was a fun one!
Please don't change the NYT Crossword into a cryptic. I could subscribe to the Times of London if I wanted that.
Stop with the cryptics! Read the Times of London if you want to do cryptics!
@Dave K. Just an unfun puzzle.
