I am in awe of anyone who can construct a crossword, especially one with clever rebuses that work both ways in different ways. I thank the constructors and the editors for providing us with these daily brain pleasures.
@Weak yes bit of a lark (bird) is wing. I thought this was quite clever. It made me laugh.
Why is a “base unit” a “cot”? I get that it’s a military base. And I get that a cot is a bed. But I don’t understand why a bed is a unit of a military base.
