Great puzzle. I was stuck forever in the top left corner, until I finally remembered the name of Counsellor TROI and it clicked. But wow, that was tough, but very satisfying

The bridge guy/Hawaii bird cross was tough for me, I had to look that up as I had no idea what either of those were. Everything else was pretty straightforward. DONEE was tough, but the crosses were easy enough. Same with TEC, which I don't quite get, but the crosses were fine

Very fun one. Had to look up EXURB since I was having trouble with the X in the cross. Also found out what a ZOOT suit was. Man, even when you get the gimmick this one was tough

Fun solve, good enjoyable clues. I managed to solve it fairly quickly for a Saturday (which for me is never a guarantee solve anyway without lookups). But it's nice to feel good about yourself. I enjoyed the challenge of 43A. First went with I THINK SO then BELIEVE SO before finally unlocking I TRIED TO and that ended up being the last piece of the puzzle. Some tricky stuff like ELS, MICA, SRO, MEWL, CECE. But - and this is the most important thing - the trivia-y stuff was never crossed together, which I find to be the most annoying thing.
