@Jerry A dam produces a reservoir, so a DAM is a "reservoir producer"
Thank you, Crossword Column, for the fun throwback to the Chronicles of Narnia SNL short. Still hilarious.
Panino/ panini: Just clue it "sandwiches". It's more correct, no big deal.
@SBK sure ~ it is a reply to Nancy J's comment wondering if there are any articles about the "internal workings of puzzle selection". The link is to a wonderful podcast with the puzzle editors of not crosswords, spelling bee, connections, etc. If you're a fan of puzzles it's a fabulous listen. (The Daily podcast)
Great puzzle today, yesterday broke a very long streak. Question for the pros out there: I've been doing puzzles for years and years, but only recently began paying attention to Statistics. I used to leave a puzzle open while I was distracted by something else, so my solve times are not accurate. Now I am more careful and would like to have more accurate solve time stats, but cannot figure out how to clear my current stats and start over. Does anyone know how I might accomplish this?
@Nancy J. This is a great listen: <a href="https://open.spotify.com/episode/17L4DcShwUAOdY0TWb4riL" target="_blank">https://open.spotify.com/episode/17L4DcShwUAOdY0TWb4riL</a>
@Suzanne I loved that I popped it in there right away, thinking, well this fits, but it's going to be wrong, but....
@Kristin I think when there is a two word answer like this, the first part is always the clued part, so in this case CRISSCROSS would have to be the 5D part because it's where the clue starts. 38A refers to 5D, so it will be the second part. I think that's true, but not certain!
@Mean Old Lady Nor is right ~ big phrase in Costa Rica, but haven't heard of it anywhere else
@Barry Ancona At some point, you have to stop trying. If people won't read, they won't read. If they won't learn that Thursday is just like that, they won't learn. I love how hard you try though!
@Ellis I thought the same thing ~ odd that for that one airline, 57D is highlighted instead of 57A, especially since 57A references 49A specifically.
@Barry Ancona I think I see (maybe) why you recommend that puzzle today. Do you do both every day?
