Years ago, I was traveling on a dirt road in the Southern Laos country side. Our driver and guide were in the front seat, my companion and I in the back. On a 4-H camp farm I worked on for one summer, we’d wake up at 5am to bring the cows in from pasture for milking. Each of us would touch the electric fence - not only to wake ourselves up, but also to show the cows who was boss.
