Click and Clack would have loved this puzzle!!
Lovely puzzle. Enjoyed the rebus on an unusual day! Finding one on a Thursday feels like just doing my job, finding one, unlooked for, on Wednesday is a little more satisfying. Otherwise, never run across “voluntold” before. Funny word, I guess it does kinda make sense
Great puzzle, I really enjoyed that. Does anyone else cringe every time LITE comes up in a puzzle? I suppose the puzzles are filled with slang, acronyms, abbreviations, foreign words, etc, so it shouldn’t bother me. But whenever I realize LITE is the answer I think “that’s not a word! How dare they!”
For those who complain about the theme: yes, it’s fair game. I don’t like musicals and don’t know anything about them and it makes solving difficult ALL THE TIME. my partner doesn’t care for sports and it makes solving difficult for her ALL THE TIME. Having to negotiate puzzles with information outside one’s interests is part of the whole deal, it’s how the game works. One single Nintendo puzzle breaks your spirit? 😂 Don’t worry, it’ll be another 55 years before there is another Mario-themed puzzle!
Rare Saturday puzzle perfectly synched to my brain! PB time, the answers flowed like water, barely a misstep along the way! A real pleasure when everything clicks into place. BALLERS, DAP and STEEVE were the last pieces to fall, and they didn’t put up much of a fight.
That was a real bear for me! Great cluing. If I’m quibbling: a few more proper nouns than a perfect puzzle might have, but still really excellent!
Loved this puzzle!! Also a big fan of the NATO phonetic alphabet. Win-win.
Yea, I enjoyed the puns. Also, since I started doing the puzzle regularly I’ve been thinking about Oreos a lot more than I used to! I buy snacks for my employees sometimes, and I’m pretty sure I’m also buying more Oreos than I used to! Oreo LLC should be paying the NYT for a product placement fee, and we could all pay less for our crossword subscriptions! 😂
@Joe wow I really thought there was a direct link there, that’s how I ended up with STEEVE
Tough but fair! Things I still don’t understand: 1) Elks? 2) Obeli? 3) Cot?
@john ezra How does it feeeeel?
@Cathy Parrish I had “garden mile”!
That was a tricky theme, but nicely done by the constructor. A fun, challenging Thursday. Maybe I’m just not awake yet, but probably the toughest Thursday for me in a few weeks!
@Elena wow, congrats! Also, you have a cool local library!
@SP very fair response. I did not find RAIN to be a gimme, but I can see how it is gettable for some
