I really didn't think I would see a picture of an echidna blowing a snot bubble today but here we are.
Brutal crossing PERIDOT/KIR/NICOL/EDOM. š®
@Barry Ancona He said it was an opinion. Why does he have to defend it?
@Barry Ancona Did that insult make the forum a better place?
Something you'll never hear at a NAPA auto parts store: Hi, I'd like to buy a glove compartment. Sure! They're over by the windshield wipers.
@Hillary Stolis is plural for Stoli, which is short for Stolichnaya. It's a very popular brand. You could walk into any bar and ask for "Stoli" and they would know exactly what you want.
Fun puzzle. A couple of rough spots: To me, the thing on a car panel is (was?) a CD player. A CD DRIVE is in a computer. I'd never say TERABIT as a measure of computer data. I'd say terabyte for sure.
What was that play about some guys waiting for a Brit"s approval? Oh yeah... Waiting for Goodoh!
I didn't didn't do this puzz.
I shouldn't have confidently entered CAREER for 34A.
This puzzle was a pain in the... Well, you know.
@Steve L Have fun. I won't be reading it.
@Steve L If you know it's a hint, not a definition, I can't see why you are bothering to write that comment.
@Steve L Pretty condescending.
@Steve L What makes you think they are unskilled? Sounds like some prejudice is going on. Besides, telling someone they aren't skilled is pretty rude.
@Barry Ancona A little insulty. Let's keep it friendly. There is no Edit Button. Never made a typo?
@Barry Ancona You realize knocking the editors is as bad as knocking the constructor, don't you? They're all human beings.
@Dan Prepare yourself, you're about to be told how many times it has appeared in past puzzles and that it's in the dictionary. š
I can hear the editors saying: "Hey forum - you say you don't like circles, rebuses or tricks? Okay, you asked for it!"
I continue to wonder when some in the forum will get used to the variations in difficulty, which have been going on for a very long time. It doesn't bother me at all.
We had doner yesterday; shawarma today. I'm putting my money on gyro tomorrow.
Just for fun, I counted proper noun crosses and stacks for three Mondays. The standard arguments we've heard over and over about tough crosses apply, of course - let's not rehash them. Q. W|TWAST|T? A. A fun puzzle.
@Jeff They complain mostly on Friday and Saturday, so maybe you can skip the comments those days.
@Barry Ancona I don't think you "got it." She's saying she liked how the puzzle was challenging but certain clues ruined it for her. Too bad you decided to shower her with snark.
I spent decades in computer programming and never heard "evicts" in reference to a cache. Funny the things you learn doing crosswords.
@JP I assume you mean *external* clues. Otherwise I would be extremely impressed. š
Technically, "PalmPilot" went away in 1998 after an out of court settlement with Pilot Pens. The underlying operating system, PalmOS, went on until 2011. I just couldn't let this go because I used to write Palm applications.
@Steve L I said just for fun; I guess you missed that. I didn't post because of like or dislike; I am pretty neutral about the issue. I thought others might enjoy the statistic too. I also said I'm aware of the standard arguments, but you chose to rehash anyway. Obsessed? I can't compete with anyone who made 13 comments today. š¤Ŗ
@Barry Ancona Whoosh. That was a joke, son.
@Steve L You may think this is funny but you are making fun of people who post here.
Congratulations on your retirement, Deb! It's an act of genius that you selected a picture of a coin that's being retired on the same day that you announce your retirement. Well done!
@Andrew What were you laying? š
This is definitely a candidate for POY. I had to guess the crossing of AVEDA and IDA. D or R? Don't worry I won't say that word that starts with N. š
Busy day for the Natick Police. I hope they have a well earned donut.
Throwback to the difficult Saturdays of old, which I usually didn't even bother trying to solve. p.s. I'm not complaining.
Hmm... I wouldn't call Mr. Spock an ALIEN. Earth and Vulcan are both in the United Federation of Planets, and he's half human!
Good thing we have someone who can tell us if our minds are too closed or narrow.
Canine hole? DOGSPIT Hey, I tried!
Nice puzzle, but to me stew goes *in* a ladle.

This might be a record low number of comments (complaints, hatred, etc.) from those who dislike rebuses. Well done, Natan et al!
@Barry Ancona J was just making a fun comment. No lecture needed.
If you want to get technical there are a lot more than 32 owners. Some teams have a group of owners with one being designated the principal owner. Whether the constructor knew these details is anybody's guess. It's not a great entry IMO. I'm sure I'm about to get shouted down so I'll be leaving now...
I, for one, can't wait for Ncuti Gatwa to make it into a puzzle.
Winning a Pulitzer doesn't make your name a gimme to most solvers. Signed, The "not literate enough" Dude
Fun fact: The Simpsons scripts don't say "d'oh!"; they say "annoyed grunt". Congratulations on 90 puzzles, Andrea!
Great puzzle, and I'm glad it didn't blow me up if I entered a wrong letter. š
