I am usually not a fan of Thursday crosswords and actually have a better track record with Friday and Saturday puzzles. But today's was terrific!
@Throckmorton the elder Bobbsey Twins - Bert and Nan
@Rachel from Cornwall I initially guessed Mate.
ADZE in a Monday puzzle? No fair!
@Xword Junkie I also missed it by one letter due to Oragel vs Jel and the 7/ clue escaped me
Took me 29:29 but oh so satisfying to hear the music and see the yellow!
Proud of myself for solving this one, and was pleased to see my alma mater Bryn Mawr appear.
I adored this puzzle. Almost every answer gave me a chuckle once I figured it out. And yes I used Autocheck but I didn't look anything up on Google - I promise!
49A was absolutely brilliant!
I have to say, this was really fun. Had to look up a few names but I still had a few guesses I wasn't sure of, and was surprised and delighted when I entered the last letter and the music played!
@Chili I had to Google it even after I solved it because I couldn't believe it was a real term
As I was doing the puzzle, I thought it was rather challenging for a Monday. I was surprised that I actually beat my average Monday solve time by over a minute, so I guess it was just right for a Monday.
@Steve L Thank you!
That feeling when you finally figure out the theme...priceless!
13D had me scratching my head until I realized the double meaning of Characterize. Fun puzzle.
@SP thank you! Was the only thing I had to look up today. Quite obscure, has it been in the crossword before?
I had never heard of the answers to 7 down or 15 across so had to resort to Googling to finish. Otherwise a quick solve with some cute clues.
@Dominic I still don't get it...help please!
@jas yes that's what I meant of course. Thx
@Steve just came here to complain about this!
Am I missing something? I'm on iPhone and I don't see any "thick vertical lines" in the shaded areas.
@HeathieJ Aha! Thank you
@SP Simple for So Easy tripped me up for a long while, until I solved the song title.
@HackDiesel even after I solved the puzzle by figuring out the overlapping answers, I had no idea what this meant until I Googled it.
