Good fun puzzle. NAVEL for "evidence of a past personal connection" gave me a nice chuckle.
I'm going to nit pick, ERM? WOAH? So now they can just make up words?
Fun puzzle, GAS STATION SUSHI made my day.
Harder than usual but so much fun. I had to get 113A before the light bulb came on. I can't imagine being clever enough to construct a puzzle like this where the answers worked with and without the extra letter. Well done!
Pretty darned clever for a Tuesday. Nice puzzle!
This seems to be one of those puzzles that is made more difficult than it should be with vague clues.
I did fairly well, but being unfamiliar with SHAKSHUKA, I had SNIT for "small drama" forever until SKIT occurred to me.
Another tough Saturday, but Saturday is supposed to be tough. It took me 10 minutes longer than usual. Mostly I got stuck in a few spots. For fundraisers I had NPOs instead of PTAs. I had never heard of JORTS before today, but JASPER was a fairly obvious guess. ANGELHAIR took me forever, all in all fun and satisfying.
Back towards a more normal solve time than last Saturday, a couple of "meh" clues and answers. I have never in my life heard of "BOOM ROASTED" and I'm pretty old. Creative license I guess. RUB for CATCH really threw me but it's legit, BAILS for DIPS, SO TO SPEAK makes no sense whatsoever.
Very difficult, for me anyway, took me almost twice as long as usual average. My unfamiliarity with Rap music doesn't help, it took me forever to change my guess "HARDING" to "WARRENG" and I've never heard of "Yas Queen" before. But very enjoyable, and Saturday is supposed to be difficult.
I enjoyed this one, I'm a little surprised by all the negative comments.
One minor nit to pick. I have been to London more than twenty times over the years even residing there for a while several years ago. I never once ever heard the word "HOSER" used there. Toronto dunderhead would have been much more accurate. "PRAT" or "TWIT" would be British terms.
That took considerably longer than usual, but very rewarding. In my defense I have no children, so I am not well schooled on Pixar. Ferrule cost me at least 5 minutes by itself.
Extraordinarily difficult for a Thursday. I haven't seen Wicked (3 hours, yikes!) it probably took 20 minutes for the theme to kick in, actually a great fun puzzle once I figured it out!
Could someone please explain to me how the word "PROM" is a "simple question". Thank you.
@CCNY Ah, thank you and the 44-year-old Polish man from a rapidly diminishing 68-year-old.
Is anyone else having issues with the puzzle not recognizing that I've finished it? I triple checked it, everything is correct and the timer has even stopped but I'm not getting credit for having finished it.
Very good puzzle, except for "boos" equating to SWEETIE PIE. There is no definition of such a word in the Miriam Webster dictionary. Too much of a reach.
17:56 today (I average a little over 25:00), I almost finished it first time through the across clues. I should wake up too early every day. I don't need to be challenged every day, it's also fun to have a few chuckles doing these.
Have a tit? A google search only turns up mammary glands. I have certainly never heard this used in reference to the clue.
The thing that threw me off for a while was that for 16A "oh c'mon" could actually be the correct answer. Fun puzzle!
I was easy once I solved 61A, unfortunately that took me almost 15 minutes. It was fun, nice puzzle.
My first run across I thought this was going to be a brutal one. The downs were much more forgiving. Still a tough nut to crack, but fun and rewarding. I got lucky a few times, I still don't know what FOMO means, google time I guess.
@Marlene omg wah! duh! I think I just stepped in it LOL. Let it snow I guess.
@Niki B I do apologize for the spilt tea, I blame it on my AFIB and only being allowed decaf.
