@Grant The beauty of crosswords is that one person’s hard is another’s easy, so it all balances out. I happen to keep up with Broadway shows so I knew idina was the answer, but there were other things I got by filling in the other direction.

@Nancy I never heard of Mendel working with Green Beans. He is always described as working with pea plants, or sweet peas. Imagine my surprise when “sweet peas” which fits nicely in the space, got me absolutely nowhere.
