I am consistently amazed and humbled at the cleverness of these late week puzzles. Bravo and thank you to all of you constructors.
Sally was selling sea shells by the seashore and saw a saw shark and sea snake shake a shad and seal and said "sheesh, so sad to see".
@Matthew Tencelent job with your last sentence!
Great puzzle! Thought I had no chance after the first pass. Very nice, satisfied feeling (a little fist pump) after completing it in 45 minutes.
Another great puzzle. That photo of three on a sled brings back great memories.
Had TIDALWAVE and WAND crossing in SE corner. Took a while to straighten that mess out. Yet another fantastic puzzle. I'm grateful for all of the NYT constructors who create these gems.
As a golfer who had the C and A, I confidently put in CADDYSHACK. Us hackers quote that movie much much more than Casablana!
@Aaron "Comparison is the thief of joy". I like that! Your little axiom is better than mine and it really bugs me! LOL
Yet another fantastic puzzle. 32 minutes and a very satisfied fist pump.
@Anita Ahhhh... I just got it! Funny punny!
I am constantly impressed at the cleverness of the late week puzzles. I can solve them but the thought of trying to creating something like that is comical. Nitpick time. The spelling bee today does not recognize "aroar" yet that same word is in today's excellent crossword puzzle. Anybody?
@Richard Yup. I chuckled out loud.
@Nora Agree. Led Zeppelin Aerosmith The Outlaws The Eagles The Beatles The Smith's Journey. See?
N E corner was last to fall. I laughed to myself for struggling with 13 down.........No lie....my birthday is March 17th!
Whew...That was a workout. Finished with no help in just under an hour. I need a nap!
Does Drano really "pull" out the stops? More like dissolves and pushes...no?
"24 across"! With no lookups I was one square off. soO... tetraminO. Another great NYT puzzle!
@CaptainQuahog Oh my....Parochial school grade 1 thru 8 in Connecticut. We called it the Lav. Haven't thought of that little tidbit in over 50 years!
@Mean Old Lady If you liked Saturday Night Live in the 70's and 80's, yes definitely.
@Francis It was a bedbug called a vass or something like that
@Jane Wheelaghan Wait....It was easier than others but you had to look up quite a few?????
Gave up after 3/4 complete. Never would have gotten the southeast. The "too easy" crowd got their wish today!
