I am not usually (as in hardly ever or maybe even never) an early commenter. For me A Take of Two Cities was my first theme answer and that gave me the clue I needed to continue. I usually have get dragged into the theme entries kicking and screaming with cross entries but this puzzle it was the other way around. Fun was had.
I loved so many of the clues. 20A still has me rolling on the floor.
I don’t usually finish these with time to comment and then when I read the comments, to see so many from disgruntled puzzlers bugs me to no end, so I just want to say thank you Luke for yet another entertaining puzzle to along with all the other Sunday puzzles that find their way into the NYT. Keep ‘em coming.
Very nice indeed. Thank you.
So glad to finish in time to comment on how many people find negative things to comment on. I solved the version in the magazine but I checked the version on my phone to see what was ailing people and the puzzle looks fine. If your color is off that is the fault of your device and not a NYT tech issue. This was a clever puzzle and I loved it.
Once again reading oldest first is so rewarding. Good puzzle fun.
@Nancy J. And acid tabs
I still get the paper so the theme came easily. I suspected this theme wouldn’t fly if the digital version stayed upright when you rotated your screen but I was curious to see if that was true when the online version aired. I love every puzzle that comes easy to me which isn’t many.
Nice theme, fun puzzle and learned a few things. Gawp.
Got lucky and saw the theme early I. The NW corner. Some good oh chewy fill. Cheers!
A very nice Saturday, Sunday and now finally Monday morning solve. Quick I am not.
Good Stuff. I love that Norm MacDonald Moth joke. Have laughed to it dozens of times. RIP Norm
Very creative. I struggled until I got northeast corner and saw what was going on. Challenged I was
While I appreciate all the puzzle constructions that I am able to solve, when you solve one this fun you know you have been treated to a real work of art. It started very slowly for me but persistence paid off in the end.
Very few, but still greater than zero, heavy lettering to correct initial mistakes. Another good time was had
@SP tried to believe that until the nickname was clearly Tex and then the gears in my head shifted from reverse to forward.
