LOVED today's theme. As a newer puzzler (just hit my first 30 day streak!), Sundays are always difficult for me. The fun theme made it so much more enjoyable! Thank you, Victor and Tracy!
@Ethan Nor is MAS, OLE, or any of the Spanish answers that are common for crosswords. Now you know for the future!
@Lauritz I am not in any way a football (soccer) fan and also got it right away without issue...
@Calypso It was All Over the Map, you say?
This puzzle really made me feel like 84D...
Somehow came it at 7 minutes under my average today! Got theme clue pretty quickly, although I first thought each related answer would have an omitted "chip" in there. Overall, a great puzzle! A few bits that were a little crunchy for me: ASAP not having reference to it being an abbreviation Thrilled = SENT? never heard this definition EENSY (need I say more?) and TROTH, which I've also never heard but assume it is short for betrothed?
A new PB for me today! Just the pick-me-up I needed!
@K Thanks for the motivation! Today's puzzle made me feel defeated and I came in at well over my average, with several lookups. Helps to hear that I can improve with time!
My fastest time on a Wednesday, but not so easy that it wasn't enjoyable. What a fun theme! Most enjoyable puzzle for me in a while.
@Aaron Interesting! I took it to mean one end of a person's lap, the knees as opposed to the hips. Double entendre?
@Steve L As a Christian American who occasionally dabbles in sci-fi, I disagree :) I didn't know any of these and I'd find that many of my counterparts also wouldn't.
This was my new personal best for a Thursday! And less than a third of my average - with no help or look ups! This felt more like a Tuesday to me and I'm not complaining. A fun puzzle and I enjoyed figuring out the cute "little" theme!
@Janine I agree, I thought the April Fool's twists on today's puzzles were so fun! And was shocked at the pity party going on in the Connections column lol
A new personal best for me today, although I had to play alphabet roulette with the 5A/5D cross. Found it easy for a Wednesday, but I'm not complaining! Clever theme that I had fun figuring out.
@Sebastian As an American, that answer confused me because I've never seen the word spelled that way
That was fun! My Tuesday personal best!
@JP Jansky If you're referring to 8 down, you're right that it's not an actual word, but an acronym as is hinted by use of an acronym in the clue. EPA stands for Environmental Protection Agency, the provider of the US Air Quality Index (AQI)
@Michael Hendler I believe the rule is that you must complete a puzzle within 48 hours of its release to maintain your streak. So, if you lapse by a couple weeks you will definitely lose your streak no matter if you go back and complete the archives.
Can someone please explain 2D to me? I thought of ATE instantly for a verb that sounds like a number, but couldn't understand how it's a letter backward. Cost me some time for sure because I didn't think that could be it
