In a trice was upsetting
enoughhhhhh with the names!!!
Didn’t love AHNOLD, but otherwise a solid puzzle and I loveee the theme!
With no real thanks to the help of Ludovico Einaudi, Malcolm Turnbull, or Elgin Baylor .. I actually really enjoyed this puzzle lol! There's a certain euphoria in getting a puzzle spanning answer and getting to type the whole thing in! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!!
Happy friday i guess!
I cannot complain about a Yoda themed puzzle. This was a "chewy" little wednesday! May the force be with you all.
Its always funny to me how sometimes the "tricky clues" in the column are the ones I already knew, leaving me helpless and alone to work out the rest hahaha
OH JOY-- another proper noun wonderland! not to mention the benefit of knowing French, latin, AND German in order to solve the puzzle.
Glad to know I am not the only one who found this one a little frustrating lol
If you squint your eyes, you can almost make out a little pig staring back at you in the grid... Or maybe I've just been staring at it for too long lol
This is exactly what I want from a Sunday! great cluing and a fun theme!
SEZ? Lalanne and Frankoz? Seriously?
I thought this puzzle was crossword-themed with square, cell, and box!! I'm always down for a crossword party!!! Happy new year everyone!!!
@Katie Maybe they're not getting easier.. maybe you're just getting really good at them!
loved this one!!! was surprised at the amount of unusual letters in this one (q,x,v,j). great theme and likely my favorite one this year so far
SUCH a cute puzzle!!!! great job! I love stuff like this lol
ZENO, ASCH, BAYONNE, ACUMEN, NARITA, DAK, and ROGERS & ASTAIRE made this puzzle unenjoyable for me personally.
"Beater of pocket rockets" 😂😂
I absolutely loved this puzzle!!! Great/unique clues, great answers and wonderful spanning entries. This is why I like crosswords !
idk what it is about Fridays but I really love them!!! its like you think you don't know anything and then suddenly everything clicks into place!
how fun!!! i kept circling around *that* square until the very end.. i could have sworn i knew Seth's last name. finally it all made sense! wonderful wednesday today!!!!!
fantastic Saturday puzzle!!!!! I hope everyone is having a good weekend!
this was kinda challenging for a little monday solve! but we got there in the end. thanks!
mondays are supposed to be chill lol
chewy little tuesday!!! really enjoyed the reveal at the end! A PLUS
I must be getting better bc idk how I did that
@LJADZ Nancy, Barry, Steve, I don’t think the concern about proper names comes from impatience or lack of knowledge. The challenge is that proper nouns are often ambiguous and usually have to be confirmed entirely by crossers. Unlike standard vocabulary, they don’t follow consistent spelling patterns, and many can be quite obscure. Since no one knows every name, including yourselves, an abundance of proper nouns can make a puzzle feel less satisfying and more frustrating for some solvers — which is a fair preference, even if others enjoy that style.
Happy Thursday everyone, i guess!
not a huge fan of proper name themes
Monday puzzle on fleek today <3
Not my favorite Sunday Solve
What a cute little theme! As a CT technologist, CATSCAN definitely made me laugh. Huge shoutout to TURTLESHELL also because that's hilarious. Loved this puzzle!
really enjoyed today! thanks!
beat my monday record today! 5:43
such a fun puzzle!!!! i loved figuring out the thursday-ness :))))
What a unique and fun puzzle! i love thursday mischeif!!!
new fastest time! 5:08
@Voicers im gonna go to panera bread today and ask them for a panino
Fridays are slowly becoming my favorite day to puzzle. this one was great
Sort of a chewy little tuesday innit!!! Excellent debut Jonathan!
Quite the Quick and Quirky Quandary today!
I really enjoyed "enter here!," "HDTV component," and "jalapeño topper." All of those clues felt like they could be part of a cryptic crossword! TGIF!! Loved this puzzle Robyn!
also since when is Elmo a *popular* red halloween costume? have yall ever seen someone in an elmo costume for real?
lots of names today! JOSEPH STEFANO, JESSE OWENS, ITO MIDORI, WYATT CENAC, IRA THE JAIRITE (yall know how much I love proper names in a puzzle) And ANTECEDENT sounds like we are speaking in riddles because what is going on there. GNEISS is also a new one for me. I had geodes there for the longest time. happy Friday everyone!
I found this one particularly easy for a saturday! but no complaints here! I really enjoyed the clues and the grid. starting off my Saturday beautifully! I hope everyone is having a good weekend!
I know fridays are typically themeless, but a halloween theme would have been more fun. also, why do we have the word RUN twice?
Honestly such a lovely puzzle. felt refreshing and i cant explain why
@HeathieJ I was unfamiliar with that phrase and it didn't help that it crossed with MEIR
On today's roster of proper names, we're just one shy of a rugby league. NAOMI WATTS, RICK JAMES, RORY MCILROY, FAYE MARSAY, ART TATUM, PAUL HEWSON (BONO), ROSIE, ST DENIS, RENE, FRED ARMISEN, ALICE, JOSE OLE.
I suppose when I think of a perfect puzzle, this would be a good example, in my opinion! Excellent cluing, fairly straightforward, very few proper names, and most of all fun! Happy Friday everyone!!!!!
