The complainers here are worse than over on Connections Companion.

@Patrick No, that is not all! I frequently hear/see "Sign on the dotted line" but also "Cut along the dashed line" on coupon borders, for example. https://www.dreamstime.com/illustration/dashed-coupon.html

🚩🚩 SPOILER ALERT🚩🚩 Ugh, Ugh, UGH! I lost a 70-day streak because I just couldn't or didn't figure out not to enter ONCE as a rebus in the four relevant cells, that ONCE had already been cut.

@Nancy A I don't believe 15D ties in with the theme of the puzzle. Instead it's the final clue, hence it takes the puzzle out with a bang, TNT.

Riddle me this! Early this morning around 5:00 a.m. PST, I realize I had my dates confused. Last night around 10:00 p.m. PST I completed today's Sunday 12/29 Crossword instead of Saturday's 12/28 crossword. I was tipped off when I saw the message "You've completed 20 Sunday crossword puzzles in a row" instead of the message "You're on a 140-day streak!" Dammit, I thought, I've blown my streak! Then, I completed yesterday's puzzle this morning, and, voilà, to my surprise my streak was restored! Who can clarify for me, perhaps an NYT games editor, what the rules, e.g. grace periods, are for completing puzzles on time and/or in order to maintain one's streak? I know I have lost my street in the past by failing to complete a puzzle. I know the Saturday and Sunday puzzles becomes available respectively at 10:00 p.m. EST and 6:00 p.m. EST the day before the published date. Does an individual puzzle need to be started and/or completed within some time relative to the release date and time? I suppose the simple question is Why was I credited in my streak for the Saturday puzzle which I started and finished 30 plus hours after it was released,

@Joe P If you put LINE instead of the dashes then the vertical crosswords would not make sense.

What are the rules or guidelines or grace periods for completing puzzles on time in order to maintain your streak? I got my days mixed up, and I completed Sunday's puzzle last night around 10:00 p.m. but Saturday's puzzle only this morning around 6:00 a.m., out of order. Looked like my streak was blown after I completed the Sunday puzzle yesterday, but, voilã, it was back this morning after I completed the Saturday puzzle today. How does it work?

It took so long for this to show up I thought it was rejected. So I posted a second shorter inquiry. Sorry about the redundancy.

@Lynn @Clutch Cargo Yes, that's correct, I opened and completed the Sunday puzzle on Saturday before I even opened this Saturday puzzle today. I have a 140 day streak.
