I love a certain 5 letter word that a ton of people seem to hate on Thursdays. I’m no expert solver, but this was extremely mild even if you don’t like Thursday shenanigans.

I love when people cry over Thursday puzzles. It’s my favorite day of the week to solve! Excellent job to the creator!

@Dave Saturdays are supposed to be challenging and make you think in different ways. That’s why I enjoy these tougher puzzles. I want my brain to be challenged instead of dropping in EEL or ROE for the one thousandth time without even thinking

A little too quick for a Friday imo. Don’t get me wrong, it was a great puzzle with a lot of really clever clues, but Friday-level difficulty it was not. Hoping for a crunchy/chewy Saturday!

Personal best for a Friday at 12:48 (my average Friday time is 1 hour). 22 across was my favorite clue by far. Thanks Andy for a fun puzzle!

Playing through Pokemon Fire Red over the past week and I was absolutely delighted to find a reference in today’s puzzle. Easy layup for me but probably impossible for someone unfamiliar with the series

@Tim Shaindlin Wow, you read into that way too much

Clearly not Saturday level cluing. Three answers ending in “up”? Come on. I miss when Saturdays were littered with trivia and people would lose their minds. Now we just get Monday level phrases like “You’ll ___ the day!” Wish the late week puzzles were consistently more challenging.

Saw Sam’s name and knew this was going to be a tough one. I got close, but had a few too many lookups to consider a gold star, thus ending my 34 day streak and perfect month. Onto September!

@Matthew S. Same. I shouldn’t be doing a Wednesday puzzle sub 5 minutes. That was faster than my fastest Tuesday. I also liked the theme and thought it was well constructed, but a Wednesday should give some resistance
