I’ve only been doing these NYT crosswords for a few months, and I have to say, this one was absolutely my favorite. It was a big puzzle, like most Sundays, but it was a fun theme and it went faster than expected. Great one, John!

For “stereotypically red headwear”, I was sure that was going to be… something contemporary, let’s say. Maybe that was the idea?

Caitlin, if possible, please add something towards the top of your review, telling us to make sure that Overlays is turned on.

One tiny change would have made this puzzle fun instead of aggravating: express the theme clues with *two* uppercase letters at the front, such as “IDentity?” That would have made all the difference in the world.
